Well MAF might be the best source to find out. They were the ones that were selling the billet RV cams. So someone they knew was making them new. I don't know if they would be willing to give up their source though. I'm pretty sure Elgin used to sell 3 versions of the 2f-3f cam. I'm pretty sure the billet RV cam I got from MAF said Elgin on it.

Quick reply from them, just said NO BLANK in the subject line. I'll contact MAF tomorrow.

How are you going to do OBDII? There's some neat new instrumentation out there that relies on post 95 OBDII protocol, never thought it would be an option on an F engine.

I personally wasn't. Have a company working it up for me. Basically I'm taking an ECU from the marine division and adapting it to the 2F using a TBI. No port Injection as customers want simple bolt on. If fuel injection can be considered simple.;)

It appears MAF no longer has a cam offering of any sort. A search on their web page only returns broken links. I sent them mail anyway...

@Downey

Jim had offered cams for the cruiser... Maybe he still has contacts for cams? Or could work something out for ya'

He is a respected member and is the man behind Downey

Truth is no one is going to drop a cam blank in my lap after years of waiting. I need to buck under and get this done myself. I'll be dropping off for a few days to work out the math and turn it into usable machine code. Wish me luck.

I should have quoted pin heads posts... But I didn't so the record will remain incomplete

And you really think I don't know anything about custom grinds and the limits of what can be bought off the shelf? Call Comp Cams, Elgin, or any of the rest and ask for a custom 2F cam with a roller lifter profile. When they are done laughing at you post back here.

FWIW I've been quoted 2K engineering + 2K blank processing to spec so far, can you do better?

you, sir, are ambitious. I salute you, as I'm sure many more than post here will, and all who do are as well. go do the numbers...

There are lots of places that will grind any cam you want: Elgin and American Custom cams to name two. No point in reinventing the cam.
Like I said, you find a single one that will do roller liftecam for under $4k, you got a deal.
I'm pretty sure they will take your money and give you anything you want.
Glad to hear. Ask for a 2f roller lifter cam part number and price. Please record, I'll pay a few bucks to hear them laugh at you.

If he's bothering you that much, you can click on his user name and then on ignore. I've got plenty of users on my ignore list.... Pin Head isn't one of them :meh:

Keep up the good work, I'm another one who likes to see how people push their own improvements into these engines. Matt McInnes' build led to an intercooler fabrication business.

Pin Head has been a valuable contributor to this forum for many years. He's a smart dude and has been helpful to many, including myself. I understand isomething he said hit you wrong, and have had a bad taste in you mouth, but honestly this is an internet forum and often things are misinterpreted through the written word.

Many of us are looking forward to your progression on your build - me especially, given the Megasquirt component; but please don't take things so personally.

I think he's an ignorant and disrespectful ass. Anyone who trash's a forum newbee get's what's coming, so lets let it rest.

Update:
I'm wanting to dial this back. He may well be a nice guy who just really pissed me off. Apologies extended...
