Im very happy with how the 295s look on my LX!

I've read through this thread 100+ times b/c this was the tire size I wanted to move to on my GX before I sold it.
I talked myself out of 295/70s for the LX and went with 275/70s instead. Now a month later I talked myself back into a bigger tire. I am a ridiculous person
Local Discount Tire manager is giving me full refund on my 275/70s for a set of 295/70s, just have to pay the difference. New tires next week!

They may rub especially if you have mudflaps.

Mudflaps are gone. Front liner is already pushed forward. I'm sure some trimming is in order.
Glad you reconsidered! I think it’s the perfect size tire in terms of benefits vs trade offs.

You did the right thing. 295s are an excellent choice!

Mudflaps can still fit if not using too low of an offset. It does take some massaging but I still have them with a larger tire and 35mm offset.

Are those stock 20” rims?

Yes, stock rim and stock suspension. The stock wheels don't give up any strength to what's found in the aftermarket, and are arguably stronger. I needed the 20s anyhow for more lateral stability when towing. It can be reasonably easy and cheap to create a monster out of the LX.

Awesome! And what tire, size and make, are you running? What mods did you have to do to get them to work?

Checkout the links in my sig. All your questions and more are there in. :)

Feel free to ask if there's something more specific you can't find.

What was y'alls experience with this area?
I'm assuming the cut needs to happen and then bend the bracket back but was that it?

I'm having the tires installed tomorrow and want to get as much of what's necessary done as possible before I have to drive home with them. I've already addressed forward of the wheel well, just checking aft now.
I'm also on a 1" spacer... figured I would at least try that first but also totally expecting to move to a 1.25"

That’s all I did

I'd encourage you to stay on the 1" spacer for a number of reasons:

- Better clearance against fender, liner, BMC. Especially as the tire turns. You'll have less mods you'll need to do.
- Better scrub radius suspension geometry, which effects handling
- More hardware durability/less load on steering rack and wheel bearings front and rear

Big meats on a Lexus is such a fun flex
Had to get a picture before leaving Discount Tire

Almost no difference in feel driving it home. Kinda surprising b/c these tires are almost 10lb/piece heavier than my 275/70s
They fit soooo easy too. This should honestly be the default size to upgrade to from stock if you roll an 18" wheel

And STUFFED

1" spacer doesn't seem to be an issue at all so I guess I keep it
Thanks @tbisaacs for getting this thread started 👍
