1. Looks fantastic!
2. I have the Wildpeaks and love them.
3. I have the 275/70/R18, I had heard that the wider 295/305 were a little squirelly. Have you noticed anything like that?

Not in my experience so far! Handling was pretty much the same.

Some wide lower profile tires are known to tramlime. But not really for large heavy trucks like ours running high profile tires.

It's an old wive's tale, and for our cruisers, more an issue of bad offsets and compromised suspension geometry with some lifts. With the right recipes, even large 35x12.5s can track and drive like factory.

this is the exact thread i was looking for! i am currently on 275 70 18 AT3w and i love them but ive always wanted to go up a size and just from reading, the 295 70 18 will suit me perfectly! thanks!

Following up, doing brakes today and noticed slight rubbing on the sway bar. Not too concerned but I do think a 1.25” spacer would fix it.

I installed the front tires/wheels today, but with a 1.25” spacer and ridge grapplers. I’m not seeing how this could fit without work, and not at all in some spots. Then It dawned on me that I have a 100% stock LX and @tbissacs is running an aftermarket bumper.

there is interference at the front, but I know that there’s a few common mods to deal with that. I need to look those threads up. I think I can figure that out.

it seems like it was so close to the front upper fender liner that it will hit if I bottom out. Maybe not. I’m not sure how much further the truck can drop from the low position.

The other spot that seems like a bad day waiting to happen is near 12 o’clock at the fender. It seems like it will hit the metal fender but again, it could just be very very close. I can fit a thumb in there. Maybe this indicates that 1.25” spacer is just a touch too much? Again, I’m not familiar with how to measure such that I can make sure it never hits the fender.

My last issue had to do with the bora spacers that came with the used wheels/tires. One wheel came back off just fine but one was a bear to pop off the spacer. Is this common with hub centric spacers?

I think it will look awesome if I can get it to work and perform properly and safely.

This isn't a drop in fit. But can definitely be made to work with relatively little effort. Everything you'll need help with can be found in my sig link.

I would recommend backing down to a 1" wheel spacer. What you have will work, but you'll have an easier time with that little .25" difference and won't need to do the extent of the mods I did.

It’s pretty straightforward to push the wheel liner forward in front of the front tire.
There are several posts on it, but basically you pull out a couple screws, push the liner forward one hole, and screw it back on.
You may have to cut a slot for the z clip again, can’t remember.
My build thread has some discussion and pics, was a couple years ago. I’ll come back with a post link

thanks guys, I was pouring over the full fat thread last night as well as your earlier one where you said you only needed a bit of adjustment because anything bigger was for more serious wheeling and you’d have to have a beater. Heh.

I’m going to order 1” spacers, make the mods and try it again. The wife, originally skeptical of the need for larger AT tires and wheels and the kerfuffle needed to make it work, thought it looked pretty good once the wheels were mounted. Something about not ordering anymore testosterone patches or something. 😂

Only the bottom third of my wheel liner is gone with bumper but not the top. However it I did have to move it forward back when I installed 275/70/18s.

As @TeCKis300 said it’s not plug and play but very easy. Don’t give up just yet.

I’d be curious what those RGs actually measure. They look huge.
Diameter seemed in the correct ballpark when measured with a tape measure, 34.25-ish, but it was hard to be precise.

Another data point is weight
Stock Lexus 20" wheels and worn Pirelli in stock size: ~80lbs
Nittos plus TRD Pro BBS wheels: ~96lbs

More progress tonight. I followed the suggestions from the Full Fat 35s thread for the fender liner and the mods came out nicely. Once I figured out how all the clips and such came together the second side took me maybe 30 min to complete.

I haven’t ordered my 1” spacers yet but had I to do a test fit without spacers. Bottom line, the fore and aft seem great but it runs on the UCA when turned in (driver side tire turned right). I saw two smaller witness marks as well but the UCA rubbing was bad enough that it would have been dangerous.

feels like I’m close! Need to order the spacers now.

How is the fitment treating you? Thinking I may upsize from my 275/70/18 to the 295/70/18s as well.

Manage to get some trail time on them yet?
