295/70/18 is a tire size that you should consider* (1 Viewer)

How is the fitment treating you? Thinking I may upsize from my 275/70/18 to the 295/70/18s as well.

Manage to get some trail time on them yet?
Absolutely zero regrets. Flexed em out a bunch and only had minor rubbing on the sway bar which I corrected by going from a 1” to 1.25” spacer.

Occasionally I can still manage to rub the inside of the rocker (most of which I’ve cut away) but I’m not worried about it.

Lots of trail time on this setup as well.

so you've gone to the 1.25" and you don't have issues with the fender at 12 o'clock when in low position? It seemed so close but possible that it would tuck in as it went through the range of motion.

I'm going to try the 1.25" that I have and see how it fits now that I've done the fender liner mods.

Not so far but can’t say for certain I’ve tested all scenarios. I’m almost never in low - when I am it’s in my driveway backing in / out.

Alrighty, spent the afternoon taking a wire wheel to all of the mating surfaces, installing 1.25” spacers and then the wheel and tires.

love the look! Wife likes the look as well. 🤩

I need to address the bracket and plastic at the rear of the front wheels, it did rub there but otherwise looks pretty good.

Thanks to @tbisaacs @TeCKis300 and @grinchy for all the info you’ve contributed to the knowledge base here!

I’ll follow up once I’ve complete the last tweak.

Proper!

So I've got a set of 3/4" Bora spacers already. I'd rather not have to find a thicker set.
Using a stock 2016+ 18" wheel with the 56mm offset plus the 3/4" spacer, could I get a set of 295/70r18 to fit?
Or will I be cursing and looking for thicker spacers?
What If i did a tire with a narrower tread patch (for a given width)? Like a LTX M/S or A/T G015?

Hard to say but I bet you'd rub the upper control arm and possibly sway bar.

Based on everything y'all posted, that's what I was afraid you'd say.
It looked like a tight squeeze when you were sporting 1.0" units.
Not that I need tires that big... But would be cool.

@LS2Cobra go a 285/70/18 Ridge Grappler and you should be Golden....

Thought about those but, dang, they're $$$. I can get several extra anythings in 275/70r18 with the delta between the 275/70s and 285/70s.

Gotta figure out how important that extra 0.4" of width is to you...

It'll be close and will likely just rub the UCA. But only at the extents of steering with lots of suspension compression.

I say keep the tires. 295/70R18 is such an awesome size in overall dimensions: 34.6" x 11.7.

As I run a 34.5" x 12.5" but with a 1" spacer, I think you're inner clearance will be very similar but just a hair better than mine.

If it does come to needing more adjustments, you can do a couple things: 1" spacer, or grind the upper UCA at the rub point. Checkout the link here for potential watch areas and solutions:

Quick update... I finished up the mods aft of the front wheels. I ended up turning the "U" shaped bracket into an "L" shape such that the mounting hole was now ~1/2 inch or so further back. Then I drilled a new hole in the liner and bolted it down with the factory bolt. I thought I had taken pics but apparently I failed there. :)

Got it aligned at an off road shop (Round2 off road in Cedar Park) after Lexus said they couldn't handle the wheels/tires for an alignment and wanted a million dollars to move TPMS sensors.

It drives beautifully now, tracks well. I was a little worried after I installed the tires prior to the alignment because it was a bit squirrely and not great but the alignment got everything driving nicely.

There is def more noise. Sometimes just a bit more, sometimes an annoying amount, depending on specific road surface.

Even the wife, who generally was skeptical of why it needed new wheels and bigger tires, is snapping pics and sending them to me, like "hey, it rained, look how good it looks all covered in rain drops". Ha.

Now time to go learn how to drive this thing on trails.

Did you have to trim lugs with those Bora spacers?
