Apples to oranges....but we love our 2023 Highlander Hybrid with the N/A 2.5 engine. 40 mpg is easily obtainable for it on backroads, 80 mph on the interstate is 32-35 mpg. It's bigger and about the same weight as my GX too. No powerhouse but has perfectly acceptable passing power for a family hauler. We were initially waiting for a PHEV version but finally gave up as Toyota is/was coy about when they'd eventually offer a PHEV in that platform. It would have been nice but the normal hybrid is fine for our purposes.

I have not driven the Toyota TT V6 yet but have driven lots of Ecoboost F150/Expedition variants as rentals for work travel. While I much prefer the linear power delivery of a N/A V8, I can see the appeal of having more torque at highway cruising speeds, especially while towing. My GX can tow our camper just fine at 1800 rpm at 65 mph on flat ground but immediately needs a 4th gear downshift on minor inclines. TT torque would definitely be helpful there.

The TX should be a Grand Highlander and I believe a PHEV option may be coming on it. If that's the case I may be interested. I don't need it for towing (have a 3/4 ton RAM for that) so it'd be a nice highway cruiser for the family.

Biggest issue with the Highlander is that it's not body on frame. (And it's not a Lexus :p)
Are these new TX's to be BOF? Although it's kind of hard to tell with so many different rendering of the TX, it's kind of looking more like a wagon than SUV. That rear overhang is looking kind of long (read: poor departure angle).

Lexas Texas is unibody and will be the the luxury version of the Grand Highlander. If you actually need a minivan, but think you're too cool for a van and/or want the luxury of a Lexus it will be the one to get. I anticipate they both sell like hot cakes.

It took 11 months of waiting for us to get a pedestrian Highlander Hybrid. The upgraded Grand Highlander and TX will sell like crazy indeed. Pretty close to the perfect family hauler IMO - I'm still surprised how much I like driving ours, although the GX is much more fun to drive with a V8 :).

We're liking hybrid life enough that I may get a used Prius/CT200h as a commuter in the next couple of years.

Gonna be honest. I think it'll be a fantastic vehicle (the TX). The price point of a potential PHEV trim will be what sways me the most.

One thing I already hate...the matte plastic piece for the "floating" roof. I hate that trend like no other. It makes no sense to me and it cheapens the vehicle in my opinion.

The square side mirrors was an interesting choice. Also, I can't tell, but I'm really hoping they do away with the barn door in favor of a hatch.
I dig the square mirrors, from a visual perspective at least. Very old-school off-roader vibe.

And ditto about the hatch.

I like the squareness, not sure about the light bar, again too jeepy, like the LX.
Still waiting for this to drop though.

Bet you we will see a flood of good used V8 GXs hit the market in trades soon from the mom crowd who couldn't care less about displacement and NA.

I’m almost positive the barn door is gone. Loving the look.
