Test fitted the new new setup BFG KO3s 285/75/17. Overall very happy with how it turned out with basically no rubbing which is very surprising.

But since I'll be screwing around and installing new UCAs, the alignment is likely to change so we'll see if any plastic trimming is needed.

Ended up putting roughly 7k miles on the 285/65/18 KO2s in the past year and half, but they'll be up for sale shortly, likely with the Method 305NVs.

I’m hesitant to ask as this might be a stupid question but are both wheels black? The one propped against can looks silver/grey. I ask cuz I’m trying to get some real world photos of wheel color for a metallic grey 2017. Thanks!

Not a stupid question at all. It just looks that way from the sun hitting it. But its black - its the wheel mounted in second photo.

295/70R17 Cooper Strongholds, ~2" OME MT64 lift, Rock Warriors with 1.25 Spacers. Removed Factory Mud Flaps, Rival 4x4 Front Bumper. No rubbing anywhere, no other trimming. I've run several sets of 285/70R17s on these wheels on this and the prior 200. The 295/70 looks nicely beefier without the downsides of full 34s or 35s IMO.

Those look great. I was thinking of sizing down to 285/70 from 285/75s, but this looks like the perfect in-between size. Are those C or E rated?

E rated. Only downside of the 295/70 is I think you can only get E rated tires. I've never had an issue with E Rated Tires on a 200, but we load pretty heavily and do beat on them a bit.

Yep, just seeing that it doesn't come in C. Prob just gonna go with some 285/75 toyo AT3s. Do you have any pics with the 285/70s on with the lift?

Sure, here are a few. I really thought about going back with the 285/70s to save a few bucks but the 295/70 does fill the wheel wells a little better.

I also just moved from that size ^^^. Was running E-rated Toyo Open Country AT3 in 275/70/18 and while they performed well for me over 45k miles they had become horrendously bad on wet pavement (like dangerously bad). Switched to Falken Wildpeak Atw4 285/70/18 C-rated and they handle bump pavement and washboard so much better than the Toyos. The vehicle handles much better. Have not had them in a real off road enironment yet so I cannot comment on that. I love the tire so far although they are heavy and wobble a bit at ~55mph before they warm up. I think I will take them back to have them re-check the balance. I am running 1.25 spidertrax with an OEM coil spacer and aggressively cut the fender liner as well as pulled it forward as these tires tend to run a bit large for the size.

Can you post more pics of this? I want the same setup

Thought I'd mention that with the BMC, 1.5" BL, 2.5" suspension lift, and the KDSS max relocation lift... I still touch the sway bar AND the BMC plates with 37s... But it's worth it. ;)

What if you had 37 x 11.5?
My guess is that would solve it. I'm actually petitioning Milestar to make a 38x11.50R17 Patagonia. Nitto is really expensive. I did just discover that Toyo has one or two options in this size. I won't make any changes to tires until after I install the portals this spring.
Whats the wheel offset?
My Black Rhino Dugger wheels have an offset of +10. I am super bummed because I own 7 to match my trailer and I have to sell them now. I spent many months searching for a wheel like this that includes a removable "rock guard ring". My new wheels will be a +50 offset and a different lug pattern.

Im guessing you're going with higher offset so its easier to fit those 38s without rubbing?

I would (try hard to) be happy with 37s if not for the portal axles. I have decided to partner with Portal Pros who have a 25% gear reduction at the hubs. Because of this, I feel that 38s might be better. Also with the automatic 4" lift, I should have more clearance. Trying to reduce my suspension lift now with the help of @cruiseroutfit.

Higher offset additionally helps with the extra width of the portals. Not to mention I am forced to go 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern.

Kenda Klever RT 35x10.5x17 on Nomad 504 wheels with Billsteins on the 5th perch up front (picture of what we had to cut) and Dobinson 2" springs with Bilsteins in the rear. Only slight scrub on the KDSS at full lock to the right... very pleased.

My .02… Look into Kenda tires, I’ve had two sets on two different vehicles. I have 5 people get them and love them, I used to work at an off road shop, so I have had a lot of reviews from owners / shop techs/ person seat time, and everyone who tries them loves them. I have not seen a tire mount and balanced with over 2 oz of weights! https://automotive.kendatire.com/media/737751/pcr-spec-sheets-2025-klever-at2.pdf
So in all of your experiences, no issues with balancing the tires? I'm dealing with a subtle vibration above 60mph that I am hoping goes away after getting rebalanced...
