Wanted to give an update to anyone considering Ridge Grapplers in 285/70r18 on OEM wheels and suspension.

When I originally placed the RGs, there was minimal rubbing to KDSS on full right lock. I recently installed .75" Bora spacers with the goal of eliminating the rub on KDSS... which appears to have done the job. However, there's a new rub (far more substantial than the original KDSS) on one of the bolts to the driver-side wheel well. So... off to Harbor Freight to get a heat gun! Hopefully that'll do it

Here’s how they look:

Completely stock suspension or OEM spacer?

Ima take the BBS wheels off my ‘21 Tundra Pro and put them on my wife’s ‘20 LX 570. It looks like 275/70R18 are the biggest you can go with a heat gun on stock ride height?

Let me be a bad influence on you

Well the funny thing is…

So with the 3-day weekend, I finally had the time to hit the wheel wells with the heat gun. Pushed them in about an inch or so and... the rub is virtually gone. There's still a *tiny* rub on the KDSS bar on full lock in both directions, but you've really got to be listening to even catch it.

In retrospect, I probably would have gone with a 1" spacer vs the 0.75". That likely would have eliminated the rub on the KDSS in both directions. Live and learn. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I think the RGs in 285/70s really are the perfect tires for our rigs, at least on stock wheels and lift.

Do I wish we could go 35"? Absolutely. But this comes pretty damn close without (most importantly) making significant modifications.
No OEM front coil spacer? Literally stock suspension?

You just replied to a post from 2019, from a user who has t been in since 2021..

And the answer is spacers/lift doesnt matter in a 200 for fitting tires. So doesn’t matter if he has one or not.

I’m new to the site, not sure how to see when someone has been on last. Also, I was just keyword searching and been asking people questions on posts I come across. Sorry.

suspension completely stock?
That’s a stock LX. (Possibly a mild sensor lift)

There’s lots of threads on fitting larger tires. Answer remains the same, changing suspension doesn’t change what size tire fits. If you want bigger tires you have to clearance the wheel well for that. Putting in a lift doesn’t change the arc the suspension swings through, so you still have to make room in the wheel well if you want it to fit. Wheel Offset is the biggest differentiator, since the first issues with bigger tires are running into the UCA, KDSS/sway bar and the rear body mount (and before that, all the plastic in front of and behind the wheel).

Appreciate you are new, but asking questions that have been answered and documented a thousand times over won’t get you far.

This post may or may not get punted - seemed appropriate enough - I don't have any details in front of me (which is why they're not in the classifieds yet), but I am selling my 'farm' and therefore losing a sh!t ton of storage space. I have a set of 20" factory LX wheels, from an '08, with decent AT tires (I think they are Nitto's) on them (no TPMS) - anyone willing to come to Oxford, MS can have em. I also have a set of Chrome 16" factory LX wheels, from an '01 (Chrome is beat up pretty good - no tires) - same drill, if you have a need, come get em.

Post this in the classifieds. There’s a decent contingent of folks from MS on here.

Or post here:

Gents, I apologize for asking for a favor but I cannot access the spreadsheet at work due to a firewall and my eyes are too old for the phone.

If I have a 2021 LC and I'm considering 285/65/R18 size instead of the original 285/60/R18, will the extra 1.1" of diameter require me trimming my mudflaps or contact my KDSS at full lock? TIA for any insight.

Clear on KDSS and 90% sure on any plastic. Toyota lists 285/70/17 (nearly identical) as a factory size for LC200.

To be clear, the LT285/70R17 was spec on the TRD Wheel that was ET50 offset. Since you have a newer LC, your stock wheels are closer to 50 than earlier LC wheels at ET56. Of course as long as the tire clears the suspension on EY56, then it will just fit better than at ET50 from a clearance standpoint. Scrub radius might be less than ideal, but probably fine at these numbers.

Gents, thank you! They're the HE rims. I don't think that matters, but wanted to confirm. Again, thank you!
