I think i'm set on running 275/60/20 KO2's on stock wheels, where's everyone buying tires from? Cheapest i can find is $354 per tire, stings a little. Add in taxes and installation i'll be in over $1500 for just tires...
I've always liked Discount Tire. Are you going to stay with 20s?

This is my next tire, hopefully next month. Wish me luck.

Decided to run 275/70/18 KO2 on trd pro reps, they’re 18x8 et +20. Sit flush with fender and is hubcentric, no vibrations so far. I posted a pic over at the Official LX570 thread.

Thanks tho!

Edit: hell i'll just post it here too since it's relevant

This set up rubs on the front fender liner, i had to move the whole unit forward about 1" for it not to rub, i didn't do the sensor lift yet, trying to see how it rides like this.

Glad to hear you decided to get away from 20s. haha
Probably save you some money too for the rubber, including going forward.

Great size. Nicely done.

How do the KO2s ride in that size?
I am pleasantly surprised with them. I was worried about ruining the ride of this vehicle with tire noise, and a harsher ride. They are very quiet considering how agressive they look, and only transmit a tiny bit more road feel to the driver.

I currently have a bent rim that may be causing most of the discomfort that I am feeling. I’ll respond back when I get four straight and true wheels on the rig.

That was my experience running this tire size as well. With heavy Fallen AT3Ws.

So many have reported bad rides with 275s on account of required inflation pressure and tire geometry.

I really do think these wider tires lend themselves to a better quality ride.

Swapped the factory 20" Lexus rims with 285/50r20's for 17 x 8.5 +18 KMC Bully wheels with Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/70r17 116Q SL tires in preparation for a dispersed camping trip to the Grand Canyon.
Had to remove the front wheel wells front & back mudflaps and bend the wheel well arm slightly behind them for the bigger tire. Ever so slight rubbing in reverse at almost full turn after this, but no issues so no need for any further modifications.

Installed 275/70R18 BFG All Terrain KO2's on stock wheels. Alignment done and am squeaking by on the specs. I think I heard some rub while turning and backing up into that spot. Will investigate further. Lift is Dobinson 2".

Looking good! Did your MPG take a hit? I think mine went down by 1.5-2 because of the increased diameter and weight.

Looking for some help in choosing the right size wheels and tires for my 2013 Land Cruiser.
I have about 2.5" front lift and about 2" rear lift with SPC UCAs and I will be wheeling it. Looking to fit the biggest tire size without loosing too much on compression. I'm OK with trimming plastics, pinch welds, do body mount chop and even slight lower parts of the fender as long as I can still tuck my liners in there but I don't want to cut into the upper fender lips. I'm also OK with slight rubbing on the frame at full compression but would like to avoid any serious rubbing that could damage the body panels or tires.
These are the sizes I'm considering, what do you all think?
285/75/r18 (34.8X11.2)
295/70/r18 (34.3X11.5)
305/75/r17 (35X12)
315/70/r17 (34.5X12.5)

First off, those tires aren't all 12" wide, lol. 285 is 11.2", 295 is 11.6", 305 is 12", and 315 is 12.4" :)

I have the 285/75r18 (35x11-ish) and I am itching to replace them with something wider. The low tire pressure required to yield a comfortable ride is too low to give you solid highway handling. Pump them up to give you confidence on the highway (we're talking highway with bends in it) and they ride like bricks. I think wider construction would help with this problem. It may also be partially a Nitto issue.

Just my preference, I would go with a wider tire on a 17" wheel. 35x12.5x17 because they are cheaper than 18" sizes, and you can get pretty much any tire in this size, including C and D load ratings if you prefer a comfort ride. 315/70/17 is almost the same size as 35x12.5x17 (just fraction of an inch smaller), so that would be fine too if you find a good deal on a tire you like.

Since you have an LC and not an LX (I'm assuming) you'll need KDSS relocation brackets to fit either of those wider tires, and a wheel with the perfect offset. The rest should just be customary wheel well work. My 35x11's were pretty easy to fit up, but it is apparently easier to run bigger tires on a Lexus compared to a LC.

Lots of LC guys run the 285/75/17 (34x11) and swear by it. I would prefer something wider myself.

Nobody makes a 305/75/17 that I'm aware of, but that would be a great size! You can get a 305/70/17 (34x12) 305/70/18 (35x12) or 305/65/18 (33.5x12)

Thanks @Heckraiser. good points, I corrected the sizes.
What suspension are you running?

Anyone with an LC here running 285/75/r18? I wonder what it takes to fit that.

Yeah man, folks gotta be careful with constant addition of sidewall.

My rule of thumb;
6”+ sidewall = C load or better
7-8” = D
8”+ = E

Its just not stable enough at proper pressure (with retaining traction) on highway. At 50-60 PSI, sure, but rides like trash and overkill with no grip.

Stock Lexus AHC suspension. Lift shouldn't be needed to clear any particular tire, as you still want the tire to fit when the suspension is compressed. Or another way of saying: whether you're lifted 3" or on stock suspension, the wheel well clearance mods to fit your big tires will be the same.

So what does it take to clear 315/70/r17 on a Land Cruiser? I can actually find pretty good deals on this size but what should I be expecting in terms of trimming, alignment etc. Thanks.
