Alright Last one for now. And no i did not attempt the lake crossing

Enough space to where I could take out some caster and push it back without getting into body mount.
If you go this route please report back and let us know if it works. I have no idea what a specific Reduction of caster translates to in KDSS sway bar clearance. My last alignment went from 3.0 to 2.5 degrees of caster and it looks like there is a little more room to play with but hard to tell as I wasn’t rubbing before. After reducing caster from 3 To 2.5 degrees i honestly couldn’t tell a difference in handling or hwy manners.

How busy was that area and is dispersed camping available? We’re on the Chattahoochee Nat’l forest side of the state and it feels like all the weekend warriors come over here. I’ve hiked through the Cohuttas but never car camped.

Wasn’t busy at all! Granted we went Monday through Wednesday so that probably helps.

But the key thing that we realized is to stay away from marked campgrounds. For example we swung through the hickey gap campground and it was just filled with (I assume homeless) people very obviously living there. All of the awesome campsites we found were completely random and unmarked on any map. Such as the two we found on the Rocky Flatts OHV trail. I can get into locations if desired. Pictures attached.

Thanks for the deets! I’ve heard your comments about Hickey Gap echoed as well along with John’s Mountain wilderness. It’s been several years since I’ve made way way out to that side of the state but we’ve been creeping closer and closer lately. I’m afraid the days of deserted woods north of Atlanta are gone forever.

Nothing like some epic music to make a Verde River crossing feel more epic than it was. This was coming back across on the way home. Notice I stayed close to the rapids. A bit further to the passenger side, it gets a lot deeper, in a hurry. Ask me how I know. Drone was not liking getting its directions from inside the truck so it’s not great video, but it was fun.

Nice footage. Cool shots with the drone. Lol now we have to know if you played in the deep end and if there was any water intrusion.

First time through I wasn’t as far towards the rapids as I should have been. No water intrusion, but it felt dicey. Definitely got the adrenaline up. The first part of the crossing in the video was actually the scariest coming through the first time because I wasn’t sure how deep it was, I just knew there was a side by side on the other side, so I figured it was doable.

Yeah but you have a snorkel, no?

Yeah but you have a snorkel, no?
Having the snorkel doesn't prevent water from making a mess of all other sorts. While it Gives you confidence that you wont hydrolock the motor you may have water flowing in through your Climate control vents, door sills or flood out the alternator. I plan adding some chest high waders to my recovery gear one of these days lol.

A snorkel does not a submarine make.

The snorkel is primarily used for getting cleaner air to the engine when driving through dusty conditions. Deep water crossings require a lot more prep than that.

Oh I get all of that, obviously, but the water didn't look very deep to begin with at least the section I watched.

Got back to PA on Friday welcomed with two days of straight rain. It finally cleared up today. Decided to spend the nice weather running through the pine barrens with the wife and little ones all day. We will be moving out west at the end of the year, so we’re trying to get our fill of this incredible place in the meantime.

if your ever in the south Jersey area don’t skip out on this place. It’s 1m acres of soft Sandy trails and water crossings. A lot of the east is technical driving, here you can barrel down the tight trails doing 40-50mph with no end in sight.
