I just bought a Fumoto and it says on the packaging to go hand tight, then add 1/8 of a turn with a wrench. That seems pretty non-specific to me, but that's what they tell us to do.

FSM bolt torque assumes it’s a tech with a torque wrench. Fumoto likely doesn’t want to assume that, not to mention many people may not have the adapters or know-how to torque anything other than a regular bolt/nut.

Plus with the hollow construction we can’t assume the FSM spec won’t break it.

I agree what they say to do seems reasonable.

I followed this to a "T" and have not had any leaks. I worried about snapping the hollow plug by over torquing, so decided to be a bit less enthusiastic.

This makes sense as the ‘bad’ reviews of these are from breaking and I’d guess they torqued to OEM spec rather than following the direction.

Hi @bloc
Where did you find this manual?
Wondering if I could source one for a 2021 land cruiser - I am spoiled by a big physical manual for my 60 series.

Thanks,
Fraser

See attached PDF file for engine model 3UR-FE. 3UR-FE is the V8 engine model (not the diesel that is more common in Australia). Pay attention to Nm versus ft lbs for torque values.

Actually...

The 3UR-FE is a 5.7-litre (5,663 cc) V8 engine designed for use in the Toyota Tundra, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and Lexus LX570 vehicles, without the D-4S gasoline direct injection but with Dual VVT-i. Bore and stroke is 94 mm × 102 mm (3.70 in × 4.02 in), it produces 381 hp (284 kW; 386 PS) @ 5,600 rpm and 55.4 kg⋅m (401 lb⋅ft; 543 N⋅m) of torque @ 3,600 rpm, with a compression ratio of 10.2:1.

BTW one inconsistency between the official Toyota shop manual attached as PDF in my previous post and the owner's manual is the viscosity of the oil. See screenshots. How would one explain that inconsistency? Thank you.

? are you for real?

First .. check the level when you refill. Go low.. like 7.5 and add till you know "your truck".

USA vs non-usa and where you live. oil is a temperature and availability thing.

LC200 is world wide.

The shop manual applies to model code URJ 20#, which is J200 with the V8 petrol engine sold in the U.S. All oils referenced exist in all major markets. The owner's manual is the one sold in the U.S. market. Irrespective of this, the 3UR-FE engine does not know in which market its operating. 0W-20 is not mentioned in the shop manual. Why not?
