This is on the more subtle end. I disliked the stock LX570 rack as it was on the shorter end of useful length. The LC rack by comparison extends about another 12". Which is useful for ski and roof box mounts for example.

So you are using an LC Stock roof rail that has 3 connection points Vs the LX570 Stock that has only 2 feet connection. is that correct?

Ayup. I'm a sucker for OEM stuff as once one digs deeper beyond style, the design and durability is lightyears ahead of what's commonly found in the aftermarket. Sure, it may not look as expo, but the advantages in MPG, noise, corrosion, is not so small. I have 3 OEM crossbars on the LC rack which gives it solid utility. Much more than the short LX rack. I have a GFC Superlite RTT on the way which I'll mount to the stock rack.

that is great to know, i have a Ikamper 2 and that is the reason i was asking as it is 160 LBS and the stock rails with Thule cross bars support exactly that, I don't feel comfortable with having reached a limitation of weight capacity. My first option is to buy a Prinsu or a Front runner, but if i knew of this option of LC i would have donr it. I called the Toyota dealer and they said that they do not seel the roof rack, so i guess i can look online somewhere. By any chance, where did you get yours?

Racks are interchangeable- you’re good
Actually, my lx prinsu is longer than my buddy’s LC200 prinsu. I’ve also seen some prinsus where the last crossbar clears the shark fin, and some have to use the rear-most hole in order to clear it.
Not sure if these are the differences Thur models, or maybe they redesigned one of them recently.

Mine clears the shark fin!

Did you have to use that extra hole in the back or normal slots?
There's a poor guy around here (i'll spare him) that had a reputable shop install a prinsu on a LC, and they forced it down over the fin - visibly bowed down over it

Interesting. Mine would touch if it wasn’t in this last hole:

What? you mean local Toyota dealers haven't swept up all the moronic techs? Hard to believe.

Referring to the 2016+ LX?

Anyone have details on the factory cross bars on the LX570? Worth buying or go aftermarket?

What kind of loads are you expecting to put up there (i.e. car top carrier, off-roading goodies, RTT)?

If you want to stay stock, skip the LX rack and x-bars and go with an OEM LC setup. The LX rails are too short to be practical. You can get a cargo box up there but for most uses they are impractical and mostly cosmetic.

Watching...

I have a 17 LX and I've done platform and drawers. I think my next step will be the roof. Probably not a RTT, but maybe as an option. I'd like to be able to put storage and a canopy or bat wing at the least.

I'm leaning towards a trailer right now over a RTT.

Heads up, if I remember correctly, 2016+ LX doesn’t have the captive nut plates so you’ll have to drop the headliner and put in your own 😬

Holy crap, that looks like a nightmare! I would need to do this to install an aftermarket rack? I had thought it could use whatever to current rails use (assuming rails is the right term for the silver things that run front to back near the sides)
