If you are upgrading your stock LC roof rack, I’m looking to buy one for my LX. PM me.

Still love my Gamiviti. As mentioned, Tim will customize it anyway you want.

I put the full grid on mine. Doing it over I would have thought about the RTT mounts and Tim would have left empty spaces were you have to reach in and bolt on. It still works fine for mounting the RTT

You can see the thin grid in the last picture. The thought was I would have more places to use bungy cords

Great photos, Ken.

I’m really looking forward to the opening BBQ event at LCDC this year. Will be a great chance to check out tons of options in person since we’ll all be parked at one big outdoor venue with time to browse around.

Is anyone running a Gamiviti with the basket option? It seems like this could be a good option, or it could result in a space that is not as functional. I’m curious to see what that looks like, and what the feedback is.

Talked to FrontRunner, and they told me that the highest point of the rack sits 5.5” higher than the roof...and that they no longer make/sell the older, shorter stand/off mounts. :(
Probably the strongest, most flexible mounting system out there, but dang. Hoping for lower than stock...

“The RR is too D—- high!” ;)

I’ve used ARB, Gamiviti, Prinsu, and Front Runner on 200 builds - here are my pros/cons:

1) ARB - availability is hit or miss, steel, old-school look, not ideal with RTT, short, thus impractical
2) Gamiviti - by far the best built and customizable in every way, craftsmanship second to none, negative would be long wait time 8 weeks+ and steel (IMO), Amazing product. Only gripe would be the wind fairing (/clips) @nakman
3) Prinsu - my personal choice (on my 200), aluminum, modular, low profile, available in <1 week, easy to install anything with the slots on the x-bars (and rails) light bar friendly wind fairing option, RTT friendly, most importantly- fits in my garage with my BP-51 suspension with 0.5” clearance.
4) Front Runner - aluminum, modular, RTT friendly, TONS of accessories, available in <1 week, modern look, coolest feature is the stainless steel pro table option.

If you’re concerned about fitting in a garage, get Prinsu 100%. If that’s not a concern, I would vote Front Runner due to aluminum, availability, accessories. As much as I love the Gamiviti (true artwork) I just don’t want a steel rack for weight and rusting over the years. If Tim made an aluminum version and lead time wasn’t an option then it would be no contest for Gamiviti. When I get my Heritage, I’ll probably stay Prinsu or hopefully get a Dissent aluminum one if available. @benc

I don’t charge (just shipping) for take-off stock OE LC200 Roof rails and x-bars for LX guys or anyone that wants extra x-bars. Just PM me if needed. Same with 4Runner

Very nice summary, Eric.

I'm 6'10" with the Gamiviti rack and nothing on top. But all hope of fitting into a garage with the roof rack died when I added kayak racks, maxtrax, shovel, etc. I need 7'5" minimum now, and very few garages (both commercial and residential) were built with anything more than 7' in mind

I have a FrontRunner and it is great. Really high quality and the people there are easy to work with. We are about to install one on my wife's Subaru Crosstrek.

Having said that, I was at the Dissent shop this weekend and Ben's roof rack is no joke.

I don't have any close ups and my truck is currently up at Dissent Offroad, but for the LC/LX, it has rails that run the full length of the rack and there are 4 attachment points that each sit on a small spacer which sits in the channel on the bolt holes. It is a straight drop in with no drilling or fuss required. The hardest part of the install is removing your existing rails.

No matter what rack you go with, save yourself some time and read this thread: Removing the Roof Rails
