The masks are not for the swine flu, but are disguises as both Jay and I (not our real names) are in the witness protection program. Jay gave up Vinnie "Pizza Boy" Carpacio, for using a #3 pencil on his SATs, and I gave up Toni "the Tiger" Pomidoro for dancing with the mail man.:grinpimp:

Sheet Metal

CCOT sell door bottoms. Expensive but way worth it.

Door Skins, Front

Hey Guys Hendog here from the Ga Cruisers . The Only sheetmetal Dealer I would use is PaCol. Oscar and Alexandra his Boss (I mean Wife!!!). They are great people with the best product!!! I helped them recently unload some sheet metal and I can tell you this stuff is right. Look at my TLCA#---1343 I've seen lots of cruisers over the years. They got the Quality Integrity and the Price. Their web site is WWW.pacolonline.com

One final note we are picking the raffle ticket at our Toys for Tots Event at the Varsity Downtown Atlanta come join us. The rig is looking good. FJ62 Raffle-Donation to Rescue Tellico Fund  Help get me back to Tellico...The Dog

I have them saved as a favorite on my computer, I like the looks of their stuff plus they are close. I looked at their door skins and liked them, just not sure I need it quite yet. Mine are barely holey and I have seen some that have been skinned with some filler that turned out ok I might go that route until I get $$$ for door skins....

Ok, frame is back, welded up and looks ALOT better than before. Only problem is they had to cut the shackles to get the old portion off. I do have some Con Ferr shackles that I picked up from Marshall, but I stumped the folks at SOR as to the bushings to use. Also one of the OEM springs is broken at the hangar (oh no, that means I gotta get a new suspension....dang!!!) We dry fit the tub, and I think it might just work, and to quote Hannibal from the A-Team, I love it when a plan comes together. I did notice that the PO of the tub went really crazy with the zip wheel on the fender openings, hopefully I can get some fender flares to go on there as they are pretty big. I gotta find my digital camera.....

if you do decide to get the flares, they hide alot of po mishaps. ill show where the po on mine did a terrible job cutting around the wheel well. keep it up man and find the camera

As JP use to say, "this thread is useless without photos.":grinpimp:

So I have not posted any progress in a while being that there has been none.... I must have hit the wall as there is an overwhelming amount of body work that I don't feel fit to do (welding in rocker panels, cleaning up fenders etc....) So I decided to outsource it, but the price is hefty to say the least. As it sits right now it is in alot of pieces in my garage and i'm almost wishing i'd kept my 60.....

where are you sourcing your pricing.? if its a body shop they will be higher than an actual welder in trade.

Nah, some guys who are body men that are working on the side....you know any good ones???

Ok, so I finally found someone who will do some work for me at a decent price, so it is being trailered up there tomorrow, but before that we decided to attach the tub so the guy can weld it to the body and make it look like a 40 again.... PICS>>

Oh, check this out, the previous owner of the tub decided to do a bit of trimming on the wheel wells and went a bit crazy with the reciprocating saw. Luckily the guy I am taking it to specializes in reproducing body panels, and I might be able to convince him to fix these....

Got your message about the wheel wells, but I was in Wilmington this weekend. Maybe I could drive my 40 over for you to take measurements since mine is uncut. Or, better yet, I have a roll of craft paper and can draw an outline of fender and hand it off to you.

Looks like we need to do some body sanding on the original part of the tub with an oribital air sander.

7" rims..... that's why big meats don't fit on OEM steelies....

I gotta replace the suspension first, I got a broken rear spring.....sux like stated before, wealth prevention program
