Done some more research and I'm pretty sure I've answered my own question here, but it looks like you're running fuel filter assemblies from a HDJ100 here, is that correct? Looks like I could probably do something similar and mount the setup from a HZJ105 in my case. Did you have to do much work to mount them in the 80? Did you fab a custom bracket?

@SNLC thanks for the honorable mention. Looks like a lot of the heavy hitters and guys that are part of our extended cruiser family came together on this one ….. which is just about the norm and as it should be.

Great work as always, keep it up bud!

Yes we custom fabricated the mounting bracket and moved them where we wanted. It is normally on the shock tower.

Cheers

Soft organizing a little local ride tomorrow. I cannot remember who all I spoke to so putting it out here. Meeting at my place mid-morning tomorrow and hit some dirt roads to Thomasville for lunch and then disperse. If local and interested PM plz.
Well darn. If I knew just a hair earlier I'd be there!

It's the real deal folks.

John invited myself as well as a few other Cruiser Heads today over for lunch, a ride, and of course to check out this beaut. I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said about the build. Our little Coalition of Cool frequently heard the adjectives "slick", "cool", "amazing", etc. throughout this build, but the stupid cliché, "pictures don't do it justice" was actually first said in anticipation for this truck. Hats off @SNLC and all that make it go.

My big takeaway was the attention to detail. Small little things that clearly took massive amounts of time to think up, construct, and implement - yet would probably be overlooked by the masses. I think the project would be incomplete without any one detail, but would take away from the build if any one thing was added to it.

Favorite comment of the day...

Whichever of us: "Man, this thing really pulls doesn't it??"
John: "I haven't even come close to 50% throttle."

Thank you! Good seeing you today and we should organize a run in the Apalachicola forest again soon.

Almost a week since I have had the truck back. No issues at all and have been driving it daily. More enjoyable to drive than the Heritage Edition so that truck just continues to sit in the barn until the 2021 arrives later this month. Burned a little over half a tank since I’ve been home and got slightly better than 20 mpg. The truck wasn’t built for mileage so I am very pleased with that number.

I recall telling you this would happen over a year ago. ;) Glad you like it, bummed you didn't come through Colorado to say hi. I still want to see how the H152 drives compared to my H150 with 3:70 gearing and 285's.

The gears in the transmission feel the same to me as the H150 but the 152 has a better overdrive

I really just wanted this truck delivered. Going to get it was fun and all but jets burn a lot of expensive fuel. Significantly worse than 20 mpg.

Anyone else got any experience with Trekboxx? My fridge slide creaks like an old swinging door. Every time you hit a bump and the weight of the truck shifts you can hear this squeak/creaking coming from the slide. Trekboxx sent me some YouTube videos and said I needed to grease it. I have went through all of that with no noticeable difference. I have adjusted the rear slide tabs numerous times per their videos. Same thing. Ian and Chris spent god knows how many hours messing with it in Idaho.

My brother and I restored a Trekboxx that was in a burnt 100 series, but as I think of their design, I wonder if the hardware itself has come loose from vibrations/use. Although, I would assume that this would have been one of the first things to be looked at while in ID. Do you have the dog cage and everything as well? Maybe that is what is making the noise instead. Just thinking out load at this point.....

No dog cage. 100 percent the slide. Also the truck has less than 3,000 miles since the install.
