We've already chatted at length... was hoping to log on and find a thread already started.

So happy for you man. You found an excellent starting point. The condition is simply astounding!

With that many kms on the odometer I'm doubtful the horn is an issue with the piece in the steering column... you should check the horn relay as well as the grounding on the horns themselves. Just a thought.

Blown away you've already done wheels and tires. They look perfect!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate all of your help. You were a life-saver on the drive. I was in full panic mode on the tires/split rims!

Hey Will, driving an unknown rig cross country is one thing, but doing it with splits and tubes of unknown condition is another thing entirely,

I'm not worthy that dumb.
Fixed it.

BTW, I have six spare tube tires and split rims if anyone needs them.

Y’all are working yourselves up over nothing regarding Toyota splits and tubed tires... I’ve driven thousands of kilometers on them and have even aired them down and used them off-road.

That said, finding a tire shop to help you service them here is tough. But @JohnnyC has been rocking his here in the USA for quite some time... and changing his own tires safely.

Thousands of kilometers like 200 miles :)

Nice find. Good luck with the build.

Thank you, Onur.

I know I ask lots of "Do you know the Toyota Part Number for this XYZ?"

"Yes."

I agree completely,,, buuuut,,,,,

Your newly acquired 30 yr old rig of unknown maint history could find itself stranded on the hiway with no replacement tube for miles, it's a valid concern, no?
He had TWO spares in the bed. If he had a puncture he'd change the tire out for a spare same as a puncture of a tubeless... he could have done that twice and still been cruising. =)

Personally I would be more worried about the cooling system on a 25yr old 3rd world truck, but sounds like it went great.

I foresee much fesh fesh in your future.

Lots of things could have gone wrong in the Arizona desert, but I am just grateful to be home safely with the truck.

Now I can concentrate on my favorite thing - building it!

I had some free time this afternoon while I wait on parts orders from PartSouq, @cruiseroutfit, and @orangefj45, so I decided to remove the carpet dash mat.

Unfortunately, it was glued down, but a little Goo Gone and elbow grease, and it cleaned right up!

I think it looks 1000x better. What do y’all think?

They cleaned up really nice... truly looks like a low-mileage truck.

And @FJBen is correct, you’re gonna be finding fesh-fesh in that dash.

Haha...I did this! Too stoopid to know better I guess. lol.. Cape Cod, MA to Bay Area, CA. No problems at all. 3500 miles.

Super nice truck, BTW. Looking forward to the build.

DUDE. Awesome find and already off to an epic start.

Can’t wait to se this one in person!
