That is an inventive way to use the lift that I never considered. Here I've just been man handling my bumper all alone. Not that I have a lift, but for the future should I ever have one I'll remember this.

Good work…. It seems that you are running the S1 boost level but decided to include the IC for an added measure of overkill. I’ve been on that merry go round the past month myself.

Not that you need to spend more money on this and I haven't looked into it at all. But the thing that bothers me most about turboing these or any NA-2JZ is that the intake passes over the motor.

Some people have created forward mounted intakes for cars like GS300 and SC300. I know the application exists for the 1FZ because I've seen it in drag cars. I wonder how well or not it would fit in the 80.

I'd have to go back and find some of them to see how they are designed.

Edit: in an FRS for example.

The forward facing intakes take way more work to do correctly than it’s worth. Ditch the battery, convert to drive by wire, new fuel rails, massage firewall… the list goes on and for what? Most people will never achieve the power levels necessary to need a forward facing intakes. 14 psi through a stock manifold on our turbo kit is about 450hp/600ftlbs at the crank. Pretty respectable numbers for a 7k lb brick 🤣

Johnny pretty much summed up what I was going to say. I've been playing with turbocharged cars for 25 years. I've got a 450HP 7M Supra and kept the intake crossing over the top. Allll the work to relo the alternator, TB, battery, etc just isn't worth the squeeze at the power levels I'm at. It makes for a shiny pretty engine bay and all, but doesn't pencil.

I'm sure. It's just 100% aesthetics for me. 😅

And as far as turbos on 1fzs Johnnys done tons of testing and I've done zero. Heh.

Yessir. If I've learned anything with turbo cars, it's that you can't over-cool the charge air. I wanted the peace of mind and headroom to crank up the boost a little.

There is a dirty rumor that @Cruisers and Co is gonna goad me into a standalone and bigger injectors here soon so I'll need it....
