Here is a view of the inside... getting the wiring sorted out. The new computer will go under the driver side dashboard.

The shifter will need some slight adapting, but we don't expect to much trouble...

Clanlino,

Just a FYI, when you post up the pics, you have the options of making them appear "large" so that they don't appear as thumbnails. Just a FYI in case you weren't aware of this feature. I figure since we have to click on the thumbnails to make them larger, might as well post them in the large size.

I posted from my cell phone and I don't have that option... I'll try to fix it because is a pain in the butt to open one by one...

Nice combination of parts there, sorry to interrupt, but what headers did you start with?

Gents, I've been out of the state for work, but I have a lot of pictures and videos of my running truck :)

I'll post everything once am back on mid August.

I have been out of the country having some fun... it's been a while since I've posted anything new with regards to my project. By the time I get back in November it'll be done!

Here are some pictures of what I've been up too :)

The location is Uyuni Salt Desert in Bolivia... the biggest one on the world... and this is the coolest outdoor lunch I ever had...

Almost done... we are finishing the air intake going to the snorkel, we are using a K&N filter witha custom air box... (getting rid of the stock one)
The throttle cable is set, the engine runs strong, and we are working on the front drive shaft... we had to make a custom to have enough clearance from the transmission oil pan...

We're going to upgrade the front brakes and get disc brakes for the rear... no more drum brakes!
I just want to be able to stop those extra horses powering my FJ :)

The next upgrades are a transmission cooler, and new horns... mine are rusted out and need to go...

If anyone has suggestions for the brake upgrade I'm all ears... thank you for your help!

You should buy my factory locked diffs and use them :disk front and rear :)

Another shot of the engine compartment... more to come very soon :)

A local guy has been trying to flog a set of 4 piston Toyota front calipers supposedly used on armourmed Land Cruisers. Maybe Beno or Dan can verify if such a thing exists, and if so, will it fit on the 80 series.

Nice, thank you for the info

Such a thing does exist it is not a Toyota part. Stoptech offers them but I am pretty sure it is built on the 100 platform.

But you would need new wheels as the rotors are 380mm.

I have also been looking at two piece rotors, finding a hat that fits and spec'ing a 380-390mmx32mm rotor and making a spacer for the existing caliper.

I think I have plenty of room for bigger calipers... I'm also looking at Willwood and Baer brake combos...

A little progress made on the custom air intake and air filter box...

Also a shot of the finished Magnaflow exhaust system...

Pretty happy with the progress... the custom front drive shaft should be done next week...

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Is this the same build over on the Toyota page on fb? As far as brakes go I am on 38s and my stock brakes stop my 80 very very well.

Yes it is the same build sir...
my concern is the stopping power due to the newly gained hp... sure stock brakes are fine, but a bigger set of calipers and performance discs would be much better...
