I was hoping you were using GM manifolds or CARB-approved headers, lest you get too far down this path and possibly have to backtrack to pass SMOG visual. Easier to do it now obviously.

Good news... the headers on it were in just to test the clearance, and we will be getting some similar ones with the smog required parts...

The 6.0l doesn't have an EGR valve or air pump so it's probably just emission approved headers. Glad they got it handled. Are they still headers?

Yes they are, just longer tubes... We should have them soon and will be posting pics

:/

The drama of this project is almost constant! We finally got to the wiring part, and the plug-and-play harness did not work... However, I contacted Marks4wd and they will be taking it back minus the re-stocking fee and shipping.

We're getting the new harness and computer reprogramming from painless wiring...

I'll be shipping the harness back to Australia and purchasing the new one tomorrow...

Mike and the guys of the shop are working on the dual battery setup, the radiator custom mounts, and the relocation of the shifter...

Roger Out!

Yeah you can't use a car harness on a truck motor. Why are they moving the shifter, just curious? Have to love drama!!! Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

We are not moving it after all...
Just sent the harness back to Mark's and bought a new one from 4 Wheel Parts in Temecula.

I also got a new throttle body and other parts... still tinkering with the headers...

We should have everything by next week.

I have an extra truck Dbw harness and PCM. I started striping it down but finished never it. Make sure that the painless harness is emissions compatible. When I was looking to buy a harness I could not find one that was emissions ready and ended up modifying the stock harness per the instructions on lt1swap.com

So 4 o2 sensors and evap valve is really all you need to be emission compliant. All the motors I run have no EGR valves either. Plus it will vary between states, AZ isn't as strict as Nazi Cali

You're right... I'll call tomorrow to verify it.. thanks!

The harness is CA compliant... the guys from Painless Wiring are working on it and should be shipping it next week.
I got the rest of the parts needed minus the 02 sensors and cat converters.

CO follows CARB so we are essentially as strict as CA. My motor has no egr either. The way the referee nails engine swappers is by simply plugging in the scanner and checking for emissions readiness. If something doesn't show that it's ready at the time of inspection, they fail you and you can't go hit the dyno for the actual e test. So because if that you have to have every single piece in place or the PCM will never set everything to ready. This includes the fuel level sensor, tank pressure sensor, EVAP, 4 oxy sensors that are functional and two cats.

Pain in the a** I tell you.

I hear you man... we are not there yet, so I won't worry just yet.

Painless Wiring is backed up until the end of the month... so I'll no get my harness for another 15 days :|

On the meantime the guys will work on some other customizations that we are planning on ;)

Finally the app is back up...

The shop just got the radiator sorted out and fits nicely... here are two pics of it, although this one is not mine... we are waiting on it... This one is going to AZ...

All the other parts are in so we are going to get a lot of work done this week...
