DEPOSIT RECEIVED, PENDING SALE...1989 LJ73 with removable top and fold-down windshield. This truck has some rust and needs a little work but is a serious head-turner. man if it wasnt on the wrong coast i would buy it right now but by time i ship it here and everything its just not worth the trouble. someone buy this now!

Hi all, I actually bought this back in January. I've waited to update because I didn't want to jinx myself.:happy::happy:
I had it shipped to Georgia. After 6 trips to the tax assessor's office, lots of phone calls to the department of revenue, and repeatedly showing the tag office people their own regulations saying I could get a tag, I finally successfully got a tag in March. After a nervous 6 week wait, my Georgia title arrived yesterday.

So it is in Atlanta, titled and tagged!

The seller was very responsive and the vehicle was as described.

Cool! You got a good deal...just to ship one here from Europe is gonna cost you all of what you paid.

Oh yes , the tax man...they want all the tax money they can get out of you!
The lady pulled out the book and told me mine was worth 30k. Where they get their numbers is beyond me ? I ended up paying sales tax on 15k. I wasn’t going to let her see it , so I parked it down the street . That didn’t work out anyways. The clerk was from east Africa, she had already seen it drive by earlier that week. Lol That’s what I get for having the only one in my part of Seattle.

What’s your plans for it ?

Plans? Plans? Who buys these things with plans? (kidding) :)
I'm not sure yet. I'm working on sorting out mechanical stuff now and will then decide how to proceed.

Great truck.

I have heard of the internet rumors about crack heads and 2LT but I have never met a person who this has happened to. I live in Spain and see these everyday on the roads with 400k kms and I have never met a single person who cracked a head. I rarely even see a Toyota in a service shop.

Would a cracked head user please step forward?

"Crack heads" you say?

The guy that bought my 2LT LN65 Hilux cracked it driving back to L.A. I had babied it and it had never overheated. Never an issue and it took him less than 700 miles to kill it.

If you have a heavy right foot and don't let it cool down after highway driving it can crack.

The 70 Series Meet & Greet is an excellent place to see how to spend your money on a 70 Series. :)
