You two fawkers caused my perfectly serviceable PS idler pully bearing to rattle like a coffee can full of marbles......:flipoff2:

By the way the original bearing is an NSK 6301DU2.

I will be locating one tomorrow to replace the sick one in mine.........

If yours is the same as ours (should be) it's a pretty oddball bearing. Something about 13mm is ringing a bell.

Either way: Motion Industries my friend. 3208 Vassar. They had virtually everything in the NSK and Koyo catalogs in stock a few years ago when we replaced all of our bearings like that.

There was a time when your local parts guy would dig through his books ( or computer ) and find the "hard to find" items but with few exceptions those days are long gone. Most parts stores are now only interested in the quick sales.

I went in the back way. It seems that EXACTLY that VERY same bearing is used in the 80 Series A/C tensioner pulley. That pulley assembly cost me less than what NAPA wanted for a shielded version (not the sealed one that is used) so I bought a new pulley (from my favorite parts guy  ) and pressed the bearing out of it...PRESTO!:grinpimp:

Very good!

And good to know for the future...

I may be in need of an a/c compressor for my BJ74 before Summer arrives. :bang:
Any idea if these compressors are available and if so can anyone provide a model / part number?
Thanks.....

what is wrong with yours?

It will only hold a freon charge for a few weeks and you can see evidence of oily residue on the compressor. No one down here wants to go through the trouble to rebuild the unit.

Its a Denso pump and like all their pumps it has the relevant info on it somewhere. They can often be interchanged with pumps from Japanese cars. I used a compressor from a Toyota Cressida on my FJ73 when it had the 3F.
Just had to change the front bit on the compressor.

yep, i have one in the wifes car ... love it!!!!

Wimps .....
A real man can hold the coffee cup between his legs while he drives.
After the 2nd or 3rd scalding and associated nerve damage you won't even notice when it spills. :)

Has anyone installed a turbo on a 2H by modifying their existing exhaust manifold? If so, I would appreciate seeing some photos.
Thanks....
