going to have my exhaust come through back quarter panel and there will be a 3" stack that will go up right behind the corner window and will be level with the top and will curve out.

Whoa, yeah, interesting choice there. You after looks or do you have plans that will require elevated exhaust?

yep, 3" exhaust stack, its not too big at all, my exhaust is 2.5" anyhoo. No plans just a look I wanted to go for and if ever I find myself knee deep in sh** which I never will, it will be possible or maybe not?

Wayne, I still want some headlight shields like on that green rig you did up!! nice

interesting, would there be any back pressure issues with pointing an exhaust stack larger than the original up the back?
or is the heat shield 3" and the actual heated pipe inside smaller?

i have seen the exhaust run up the back on 40s in the past, some look real cool, some don't ... as with the rest of the truck i am sure the final result will look kick'n.

hmmm, I dont know about back pressures? I am not running a muffler, just straight exhaust and a exhaust brake. I didnt think it would make a diff moreso than where the exhaust ends now by my rear left tire going out to the environment. it would be a 3" stack/ pipe approx 36" tall or so to get to roof height.

something else to consider, the air flow across the roof will circle around in a wave formation blowing any black smoke against the rear of the truck ... picture how the dust sticks when driving down a dirt road ... and that can be a bitch to get off...

I can relate, apples to oranges...

On my 80 I had the exhaust coming out just in front of the rear wheel.
The rear quarter, wheel, tail gate and wheel well were matte black after hard driving. Though on my 80 I have the fuel up alot and it makes some black smoke, but it was slowly discolouring the white body work.

Its re-routed now, but I ended up painting all the fjcruiser alloy wheels black to match the one near/including the exhaust.

Sorry your hearing this after you cut a hole in the body, you may want to raise it an inch over the roofline, and you may not have issues with the 3B if it doesnt barf out a lot of black smoke, just a heads up.

Edit, I guess thats the reason why stacks are so high above the bed rails on trucks/pickups.

true, i appreciate it, i thought about that and I can always have them make it as tall as I want it since it is not made yet. I take it in next weds for the stack.

yeah we talked about that, for they have stainless clamps to join and seal, might just do that then. thanks!!

my new ghetto pig hood emblem? aint no MACK dogg but it'll do. Heavy solid running boar going to mount on front hood, gaudy probably but I like it, going to paint it up black and maybe white on ridgeback....

Ha, I love it, go nuts! Will looks pretty sweet in black on your rig. Wonder what thats from.

Once you put a stack on a 40 pretty much anything is fair game. :D

lol, thanks. Yeah I have finally lost it. When I initially started this project it was all about OEM/ stock but now its all over, just ordered some 4+ rock sliders w/ step, going to repaint outside in Yota pumkin orange becuase I hate white but it was the factory color. Though I do want to put my split rims back on becuase I love the look of them but maybe a little more meat on them like 255/85-16's. And yet I have a huge still to do list for this thing of all new parts I still have not got a chance to get done.
