The LX came with forward facing rear seats, lots of plastic trim and three wipers. I've only ever seen 1982s but there were likely 83s and 84s as well. All I have ever seen were RHD and in Australia.

Oh and the odd LHD has three wipers too (other than the FJ cruiser)

That's Ratpuke's custom mix. Slightly oranger than schoolbus yellow.

Overtime it faded significantly to warrant a name change to "Agent Salmon" and "Agent Pepto-Bismol" by others (mainly Greg_B).

Repainted it now slightly oranger but people say it's yellow

There at least recently was a LHD FJ-40LX for sale. Real nice shape, I think it was an early '80s model. At the same shop (in Albuquerque) that has recently had troopies for sale (including a really rusty one right now). The owner is a member (but he doesn't post often, and I can't recall his name at the moment).

I'm not usually a fan of black cruisers, but a black FJ-40LX looks really cool (it has some striping and the chrome bezel). Also has a forward facing rear seat.

It's been over a month since I've driven by his shop though, it's probably sold already or something.

Those are actually nice options that owners most want on their cruisers. I had never noticed them until now, thanks for sharing those nice pictures.

Yeah, we were told it was from Saudi. It was parked with a couple other vehicles also from Saudi, so I'd beleive it.

Kind of odd that the color choices would be limited geographically. Seems like it'd be free to offer that color in other markets (well, they'd have had to print new brochures or something). Either way, it looked cool.

it also came from Saudi(or someplace like that), thats where I got my info, from Marv, was suprised that black was even OEM.....but Marv said so and if there are more than one, I'd buy it

Don't forget the chrome rims and sliding rear side windows. I'd love to see a pic of the integrated air conditioning system.

This is a newly restored and painted LX my buddy Josh in OZ
sent me just recently I think it is a 84 and was originally
white..

Just figured out that mine is an LX - LHD, from Saudi. It’s been ‘restored’ several times by several prior owners, but some of the hallmarks are still there. If anyone knows where i can find original LX seats (front and/or rear) I’d be interested. I haven’t found anything on the google yet.
