Alright gentlemen....wish me luck...

Arizona is requiring a "level II" inspection for registration...basically whether all the numbers (frame, body etc.) match....

I have an appointment for next Monday, the 14th.....

Let's hope I'm not...:ban:

Otherwise this will have been a real short buildup...

Not necessarily that they match. More that there are none stolen.

Yep....that they're not stolen is the big issue.

Great looking rig!

Passed Inspection!!! :clap::bounce:

Now validly titled, registered, and with an Arizona Alternative Fuel Vehicle Plate!!

Do they still do 5 bucks a year for the Alt Fuel registration?

Finally found the time to put the new OME light/medium kit on (Thanks to Kurt at CruiserOutfitters!). Ride is great!

Another four hours to work....

So, I've gotten tired of not seeing out of the back windows when the roads are wet...so I made some mudflaps, reusing the original flap mounts, and adding some rubber bed mat extensions....they work great! I put some lengths of mat in front as well...

...and then got to locating and mounting the rear seat....I'm trying to figure out just how much leg room, and height, will work for a car seat and maybe an adult passenger or two....

I'm using a Bestop Trailmax fold and tumble rear seat built for CJs and 1987-1995 Wranglers....

I still have 40" of room behind the rear seat. I will raise the seat two inches on custom brackets, and bolt the rear of the seat to the floorboard. My idea at this time is to use the folding backrest feature only, which will allow an extension from the rear cargo box to slide forward and give a large sleeping platform.

The interior mount of the spare tire will go away, and a stock rollbar, with cargo barrier, will sit slightly behind the rear seat. I'm thinking water tank on the left fender, and CO2 tank on the right....hmm....:hhmm:

And a final note about the seat....Bestop didn't include the side latch which holds the backrest in place; unlatching to fold forward....a call to Bestop was kinda frustrating...they can't just send me the latch...I have to return the seat in it's entirety....

Well....a PM to Wil and a quick call to Wendy at Sierra Expeditions solved any issues....Wendy is having a new seat shipped immediately; not even waiting for me to return the seat to them! All I can say is AWESOME! It's great to have such fantastic vendors here!!!

Thanks Wil & Wendy!!! :bounce2:

...and....started talking about a repaint this spring....factory tan all the way, with the white top.....

Andrew, if you go to the 45 run this year, feel free to crash at my place before and after. maybe it will be the perfect reason for me to go as well.

Well, the buildup continues...but I kinda hit a slight snag...;)

I kindof had to drive the Troopy through Mexico and the back way into the Copper Canyon region...

It's a Cruiser, right! She needed to get out and stretch her legs a bit....

Wow that's a great shot . You should frame a few of those and sell em

You are officially my hero this week.

So awesome it hurts (stop that). I fly to Cabo pretty regularly, and all I can think as we cruise past is that I need to drive down there and get lost for a while. Everybody gets off our airplane and heads towards the water--I just look towards the hills and see the REAL fun....

Nicely done!
