fwiw.

i have skinny 33" mud-terrains on my hj47 with no lift. the "driver" side tire rubs the relay rod if you turn it far enough. ( this is part of the reason why i won't put mini ps stuff on mine and want to use the scout or sag box ).

my troopie also has a home-brewed radio shelf in it, from a po. since it only had one owner before me, i assume he built it or had it built. i can post pics if that helps.

all the fluids in mine were in excellent shape. the gear oil was topped off in all the applicable locations and looked to have been serviced less than 5k miles ago. then again, the po was a geology professor and seemed to take very good care of the rig.

i only work on cruisers at my little shop. every once in a while i get one that's been neglected as far as gear-oil maintenance goes. i usually drain the oil and replace it with atf, drive it a bunch and then drain the atf and fill with gear oil right before the customer is scheduled to pick up the rig. atf is mild enough that it won't damage any seals or gaskets, it lubricates very well and it's got a lot of detergents in it to help get rid of the build-up as well as any water that might have gotten into the diff.

G'day Andrew,

I arrive in Boulder on the 1st of Jan, and will be in Santa Fe on the 5th or 6th. I should be there until the 18th, when I return to Boulder, and back to Oz on the 21st. I plan on doing the snow run with the HDC folks on the 10th, so Patches will be on-the-road as quickly as possible. I'd love to meet up with you any time in there- just let me know if you will be in Santa Fe around then. I'll just be working on my houses most of that time and staying at my Aunt and Uncle's place, so I will be easy to find.

The troopy is looking great! I love the slider in the back. I have been thinking about getting rid of the high roof on Patches and going with an EzyAwn roof top tent instead. I like the way you have set yours up, and I reckon that is about how I would do mine inside. Can't wait to swap ideas over a beer or three.

Cheers,

Josh
