Any measurements from stock troopys would be definitely appreciated!

Gracias!

And an update on mods....

A DUI Distributor has been sourced from another mudder....away goes the external ballast resistor etc....

A stock FJ40 roll bar and FJ60 steel wheels are coming up from other mudders in Phoenix this weekend!

Still making decisions on the springs....

Wil and Wendy at www.Sierraexpeditions.com just came through with a great deal on the seats!! Thanks guys!!!

For the Front.... Bestop Trailmax Pro Thermal (yup...heated!) in cloth...
For the Rear.... Bestop Trailmax Pro fold & tumble (so I can make an extendable sleeping platform from the rear roller drawers!)

I'll post some pics when I get the stuff!!

Seats!

Seats came in last week, and I had a bit of time to get 'em mounted this weekend! Thanks again to Sierra Expeditions for sourcing the seats!

Had to make a passenger side bracket, since the seats are about 1.5" more narrow than the stock Toyota seats, but otherwise the install went very smoothly. Seat sliders mounted right up to the mounting holes in the Bestop seats!

Busy Sunday!!

Finally had the opportunity to start installing some of the stuff I've received!

Spidertrax 1.5" bolt on spacers helped to give plenty of clearance for the wheels....These things are nice! (Sorry about photo quality...it was 26 degrees and snowing all weekend!)

Tires are 295/75/R16 BFG All Terrains on American Racing Mohave Teflon Wheels....From ExpeditionsWest's Tacoma...Deal I couldn't refuse....

I could tell every time the phone numbers changed....

....And I can still fit into the garage...and out again, with the new rubber!!!

Those wheels look gay (NTTAWWT) on there. They belong on an 80 :flipoff2:

Jealous, MoGas? ;p

Luckily, my wife is performing in a local Nutcracker dance, so I have some time in the garage after the little one's in bed....started the interior last night!

First, a better pic of the new shoes!

I went with the Specter Off Road Moulded Carpet set....only color choice was grey, and put some 3/8" carpet padding underneath the front. The rear is carpet over a rubber bed mat I found on sale at the local Pep Boys...cut to fit...

I'll likely rubberize the rear fender wells, and go with more carpet on the front-rear section of the fender wells. So far it looks nice, I need to finish bolting the seats, rear heater, and shifter boots in....maybe tonight....

The 295s are about 33.3" true. They're a little wider than I would normally go, but the price was right....I'll go with a rear tire carrier, once the bull bar is gone...so that it'll still fit in the garage....

Any chance you could send me a photo of the dash? I have an 82 Troopy with a 2H and by the look of your dash in the one photo I think mine may have originally been a petrol model, converted to a diesel. I am interested in the part of the dash left of the steering insturment panel. You can post here or send to creature6@gmail.com

Thanks and nice rig! Dave

Okay, the carpet is in, front seats are in (still need to wire up the heating elements, but I want to have an aux. fuseblock....), and new seatbelts are good to go....

Slowly but surely...spent some time replacing door latches and other odds and ends too...

It's cold here....

Hope you got my message :D

Suspension setup is due to you Dec. 20th

From looking at all of your photos, I am guessing mine was converted to a diesel. Not positive, but that would explain the FJ40 style ignition and the manual glow plug, kill switch....any thoughts.
