And this is what it's all about. I really wanted this 42 to share with my son as he grows up. Kellan definitely approves, I took him for a ride around the side property and he was cheering with excitement.

As @beno recently put it, the next generation of Landcruiser owner in the making.

Nice trip, though I was a little late to catch but missed
nothing....Very nice rig. Mine is a FJ40 with 1HZ swap same color. I am in love with the old school diesel motors and 3B is on the top of my list. I will attach a pic of my 40 and hope that you wont mind.

Your soft top looks great, is that a trollhole top.

I'll get a video of the 3B running and post it up soon.

Your views out the windshield brings back outstanding memories for me... only need to replace the red for sky blue!!!

Nice trip... congratulations on your purchase!
Thank you, I imagine doing that drive in the fall or spring when the temps are pleasant, and allowing an extra couple days would be a great trip. I really crammed a lot of miles in, next time I'll do it following the scenic back roads and take my time.

This is why I held out for ya while you sold your truck. Onur had mentioned your kiddo. What cute guy he is!

Jon, I truly appreciate you holding out for me as long as you did. I love it when a plan comes together. This little guy loves his diesel cruisers.

Tonight as we were heading out to go have dinner at one of our local pubs, I was about to load Kellan into the wife's Beemer when he indicated he wanted to take the 42....kid knows what's up!

The soft top is custom made....Dual layered. I live in a country where getting things custom made are cheaper than factory made.

Waiting for the 3B video...:)

I figured the 42 I saw in Princeton, Illinois last weekend had to be someone here - you must have fueled up at the Road Ranger there on I-80 at mile marker 56 in Illinois . I was the one in the late red model Dodge pickup with the thumbs up , headed north and going really slow - wife liked it too . One of the first comments she had was "can you make yours look that good?" . Sure, after about $25k in metal/paint/repairs , lol....

Glad the trip was uneventful , that's a pretty long haul and the heat this past whole week has been a killer around here , at least you missed the near-record temps of Thurs/Friday - heat index of 110*+...

Sarge

Hey Sarge, I remember you, cheers.

Through Nebraska on Friday was the hottest, around 100 and hotter in the cruiser. It made the 92 through Iowa feel cool in comparison.

I have been thoroughly enjoying driving my 42, I find myself reaching for the 42 keys more frequently than anything else.

Since Jason @reevesci decided to take a few more orders before moving his operation to WA, I jumped in line for a pair of custom bumpers.

Here are a few progress pics, coming along very nicely.

My son officially has the cruiser bug worse than I do. Every morning, and lately afternoon and evening, we have a ritual where he bee lines for the front door. If I don't take him out and let him get in the 42, there will be hell to pay. I think we spent 2.5hrs just sitting in the driveway today.

I plan to refinish the jump seats, but for the time being I just put the driver's side one in so that I can take my little man out in it, he certainly approved.

M,

I guarantee you that Kellan sees things you never do from his car seat vantage point.

J
He certainly does, he likes to keep an eye on the vehicles traveling behind us.

Awesome to see someone enjoying the first drive experience that will last a lifetime !
Stuck currently driving 60 series wagons until my bj42 gets on the road! My ride of choice above all, bj42 !
Nothing wrong with the wagons, but the 42 is pretty special.

Getting Kellan out of the Cruiser is harder than putting him to bed at night...I've created a monster.

...were a pair of Colorado Parks & wildlife Rangers, one of whom really gave the 42 a good exam. I guess I better get used to the attention this cruiser attracts.

Thank you for the explanation LOL ... I was thinking by the photo ... There is a guy praying behind your truck? Or praying TO your truck?

Great looking truck BTW

Safe journey!!
