Without that track the glass tends to move to the side and jam against the steel door when rolling up the window.
Isn’t there also a specific way the top of that channel installs/slides in, otherwise it sits loose and makes noise? I’d hesitate to leave it out, as it plays a big role in supporting that glass when it is down.

Yep, that's it while the lower end is fastened by a bolt. Bit of a bastard to get in place correctly

Cleaning up the tool kit. I am missing a jack hook extensions and the spark plug wrench leaver. Assuming the jack handle is from a 60 or 80 series.

I am trying to decide what essential tools I should leave in this cruiser in addition to the factory kit.

Good news, the brown jack handle is correct for your '79. SOR has NOS spark plug tools still available. I would add at least a test light, electrical tape, a bit of wiring and terminals to the toolkit for electrical gremlins, plus the missing wrench and any other size used on items changed. Vice grips can get you far too.

Here is an original USA 1979 tool kit. Note the table below for the correct type of tools for your production month.
Yours should have the cast iron jack handle.

This is an Aug 1980 through Oct 1982 with the stamped steel jack handle that started in Jan 1982

You're right, the handle should be cast and not the punched Hilux style pictured. My bad

No worries. Wasn't sure what foreign markets got. The jack handle that @OPMACHINE posted looks like a 60 and/or 80 series jack handle

They replace the webbing and restitch the tag back on the new belt. They called me up an said their was nothing wrong with the retraction/lock so they cleaned it and sent it back with the new webbing. Not sure if they would have repaired the actual lock. My little brother had bought me the Cruiser Corp replacement seatbelts a few years ago, they never retracted correctly and did not work with the original buckle. Very happy with Safety Restore.

If you were doing a full-blown restoration, I would reach out to www.timecapsulela.com. Eye candy on their website and Instagram.

That’s great. Thanks. I’m gonna send them my seatbelts. I just want them to be safe.

I checked out time capsule. That stuff is pretty sweet. Actually interested in one of those dash pads. I wouldn’t call mine a full blown restoration. Just doing what I have to do to get it back on the road and have a safe drivable 40 again. It’s gonna look concourse from about 30 feet. Haha.

Cruiser Lean:

I still have 1'' of cruiser lean to the driver side with a 3/8'' spacer on top of the passenger rear leaf. I am going to find some 5/8'' flat bar and make a big fat spacer. Has anybody put a spacer in the front?
