First resonator is under the driver’s seat area and makes the most difference for interior noise. Second one in-line after it helps interior noise a bit more. Then the muffler.

Whole exhaust is purged with argon while welding.

7/16” stainless rod for the supports, quality polyurethane isolators, 3/8” bolts.

Muffler is next.

Although argon is non-toxic, pure argon is 38% more dense than air and therefore considered a dangerous asphyxiant in closed areas.

Not counting water vapor, argon is the third most abundant gas in the Earth's atmosphere, after nitrogen and oxygen.

Argon makes up up 0.93% of Earth’s atmosphere, about 1.6% of the Martian atmosphere. The thin atmosphere of the planet Mercury is about 70% argon.

Anyone know why argon and bananas are related?

Bananas contain naturally occurring radionuclides — radioactive potassium-40, to be exact — which, according to the EPA, means they can emit .01 millirem (0.1 microsieverts).

So, eating a banana actually presents more radiation exposure than if you were standing next to a spent nuclear fuel dry cask or nuclear power plant.

By the way, if you’re at the bar, there’s a tiny bit (about 390 Picocurie per kilogram) of the same isotope potassium-40 in your beer, too.

Anyway, potassium-40 decays at a very slow rate (half-life, 1.25 billion years) to calcium-40 (about 89%) and argon-40 (the other 11%), and this K-40 -> Ar-40 decay is used to date geologic samples (rocks, basically).

Has anyone else ever been annoyed that the 55 and 45LV both run the exhaust exit essentially under the fuel filler?

rest of the 40-series, 60-series: fill neck on PS, exhaust exits DS

80-series: exhaust PS, fill neck PS

I did notice that when getting new exhaust for the Pig.

More detail on the tailpipe hanger. 310 stainless rod to bring the mild steel and stainless hanger together.

Shaped it to match the leaf mount, gets two bolts from the top down. 1/4 turned from the next mount forward. Should allow expansion (stainless expands a lot!) but limit travel & keep it snug.

No rattles!!
