Mark @65swb45 this 108-28 Spector key I got from you should be for the side window right?
Unless I’m missing something it looks way too short. The other ones I have are for the 1/4 windows and rear lift up door.

I got that rotting connector replaced and tested it out on the bench, seemed to work well (although I’m unsure about the park function).
So anyway I hooked it up to my harness in the truck and it seems the wiper switch works in reverse- I assume this isn’t correct? Full out is off, one in is slow and two positions in is fast. Maybe I got something screwed up.

So I remembered seeing somewhere that the connector in the wiper switch (or maybe the headlight switch) could be reversed even though there’s that keyed terminal. Sure enough that was it. Flipped the connector around and works as it should now. I like those kinds of fixes.

Anyone know what wiper blade this is? I ordered a Toyota replacement but doesn’t have the same fit, so maybe my arm is from a different year? Says Anco on it, other than that I don’t know the model.

Quick project this morning while I sweat about the headliner install.
I had these windshield latches but I believe they are a later style. I do still have the originals but they’re in bad shape and didn’t want to set out to work those just yet, although I did start pulling them apart.
The issue with the newer ones was not having the travel to hook to the hood and windshield as well, so I machined out the slot to let it swing to both sides. I never plan on having that windshield down but I couldn’t leave them there non-functional.

Top is on! I don’t want to talk about how hard that was to line everything up. The pry bar was definitely my friend. There are a couple areas that I’m not happy with but I’m leaving it for now, seems sealed up, all bolts are in.
Drove it around the neighborhood today and people probably wondered why I was smiling so much.
Did some more tuning and currently sitting at 18” of vacuum at 800 rpm so that’s going in the right direction.
Doors and seats next!

Haven’t been posting a lot but I’ve been busy.
In the little I drove this around (under 2 miles) I noticed the brakes would lock up after pulling into the driveway. Well wouldn’t you know it you have to adjust them?! Haha. My pedal height was not per FSM. Got that sorted and adjusted all the shoes. Braking is very good now, although I have one spot in the rear line were fluid is weeping; still need to fix that.
I got the passenger seat it and working on the rear now. It was kind of crazy cause when I was cleaning up the rear seats I installed new bumpers and the tie strap hardware that keeps them stowed- which were one of the first new parts I bought for this years ago. So kind of came full circle.
Going to start on the doors this weekend. The last major hurdle before the finish.

All the seats are in; waiting on seatbelts for the rear now. Also got the hatch and swing out doors installed with weatherstripping. I was so-so successful with adhering the weatherstripping on the swing out doors. Mostly sticks solid but the ends not so much.
I realized at the gas station I may not be able to afford to drive this 😆
Had to run a dedicated ground wire to the license plate light. I assume it’s the hinge pin connection on the door that causes the bad ground.

Of the bugs that pop up I’m most frustrated about an oil leak out of the front at the timing cover/plate interface area. Been reading up on this and just depressed at the moment about having to pull all that apart. But it’s enough that it has to be dealt with. Right now I’m trying to make sure I’m understanding where it’s coming from before I go into tear down mode.

Did you put some FIPG on those bottom two bolts before installing?

Truck looks great!

Thanks!
That’s a good question; I didn’t do the engine rebuild. Although the leak may be coming from a bit higher up than those bolts and seeping down to that lowest point. I’m still trying to assess that.

Shane, the 40 look terrific. Great work. This has come a long way!

No new pictures yet, but I got my dash notionally installed, just need some hardware.
I still haven't driven it much since getting alignment done. Shop said my caster is right at 0 degrees, so we'll see how it drives and if I have to give it a little bit of positive caster.

I may have to do that with my license plate light as well. New fixture, power is good, ground probably not so much.
