Those videos were awesome man! Looks like I caught a glimpse of my 40 a couple times there, I can honestly say that may have been the highlight of summer for me. Most of my other plans fizzled out in one way or another, I have one more up my sleeve for Columbus day weekend, but that's flirting with sketchy weather. It was a pleasure meeting Shannon also.

Thanks for the invite up this year, we'll have to start planning the next adventure!

Really cool YouTube channel! I love aviation content. I grew up in aviation. My dad owned a prop shop and that was my first job. He and I owned a plane together that we were rebuilding, but sadly I never have gotten my pilots license.

Any plans for FJ40 content on your channel?

Thanks, thats awesome, my dad definitely gave me my appreciation for all things mechanical, he had me working on car projects at a young age. We'll see, I have thought about it, theres plenty of cool stuff to shoot with Landcruisers as well.

Alright yall, I promise I am going to increase the landcruiser content....i need to pull an axle and check a bearing, replace a leaky seal....I have been talking to @rkymtnflyfisher about my decaying rear sill for a few years now ( before it was this bad :frown:) and a hand full of other things.
But, for those that have been following along, here is the next and final post from our summer Montana and Idaho Flying/Camping adventure on Youtube.... I am trying to grow the channel and get better at it, I do want to eventually make a few videos featuring the 40, whether it be working on it, or just cruising...we'll see. Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll Thankful for family, friends, opportunities like this, and the tons and tons of help from this community [ Friends, parts, advice, and most important the heckling]

Apparently I said on here on Januaruy 2023 that I was going to replace an axle seal on the cruiser.....It took a while but I got to it back in the spring....it was wheel bearing and Axle seal season...did both rear bearings on the Tacoma, and did both on the cruiser as well. Got the Koyo bearing and seal kit and cleaned all the gear oil off of everything. Most of these pics are doing the Tacoma because it took a press and the jig to pull the ABS tone ring and bearings (on a non-ABS truck). but it was useful for the Cruiser too, because I used it to pull the races off the axles for the Cruiser.

Probably gonna have to start another thread on here somewhere...... Just bought a 1990 FJ62, it was 2.5hrs away and really clean. California Cruiser with a clean frame and body. H55 swapped with a Twin Stick kit, some ARB bolt-ons and OME lift, whats not to like about it...Did some digging today and fixed some interior wiring today that was hacked up and balled up (door lock actuators and windows), and put some Grease Zerks on the Tierod ends (they were empty and capped) , put a Hex magnetic fill plug on the rear Diff and Checked all the gear oil, found some low oil in the transfer case, gonna keep an eye on it. Also put some quick paint on the calipers and hubs after removing the surgace rust. Overall happy with it having virtually no rust on the frame and body and a clean paint job.

That looks pretty sweet!

Good thing you got it away from the eastern shore before it rotted away!

Yea exactly, not a good place for a cruiser to be parked, but I am kinda curious to run the VIN and see when it migrated this way (beacuase its clean), it has the data plate for 3F-E Cali, so im sure it had to live out there for a while, which is nice! Minor little things so far, had an extra fill plug to throw in tonight, and soldering some wires was free, cleaned all the dome light connections, hoping to just drive, camp, fish, and enjoy this cruiser, so I can hopefully do a little more work on the 40 again.

There's big plans in the works for July 2025, if you're free, leave the calendar open!

More backcountry fishing trips!

Heck yea, that sounds good, I'd like to spend the summer by some water with some trout in it rather than the sweltering heat of the middle east...although I did get to go dune hopping in a nice VX Landcruiser....

Had a day off work, so I figured I'd drive the 62 up to some trout streams and see how it pulled on the hills. Did great, loved driving it, got some cool shots and even some fish. Met @fjman in his sweet FJ60 while I was in town!

Got home and installed some new speakers in the front doors, tried to swap out the Speedometer Driven Gear to correct the speedometer for tire size, but it looks like the FJ40 and the FJ62 have a different size gear, probably the 3-speed transfer case and the Split case have different sizes if i had to bet. I'll get a part number for a 6x17 or 6x16 for the split case and see how pricey they are...
