Amazingly, USPS located the other "lost" flat rate box and it also finally arrived at the plating location last week.

Well, picked up a few parts today. Last month @Rock40 told me I think we should GOLD Zinc plate the U-bolts and WARN 4WD dials. Boy was that a good idea.. WOW !!!!!! (A.K.A Cruiser Porn).

Hey Jason. Just want to Thank you and Rock40 for a great re-build thread. It has become a go-to for me as I tackle my FJ-45 resto.

Can you post the name and any info on your plating guy. The stuff you've posted looks great. I'm running into a bit of a wall here in NJ as the platers are all bigger commercial operations and don't want to get into these smaller jobs. I'm exactly where you are at, nuts bolts and a box of parts ready to get plated.

Thanks in advance!!

@KFJ45. Hope all is well man. For the GOLD- zinc plating, contact below. Tell them I referred you (Jason Reed from PG&E who has the Toyota Landcruiser). I highly suggest shipping it in a wooden box (you can build cheap) and ship UPS. I had issues with the weight and shipping of the parts through USPS in a gorilla taped flat rate and @Rock40 and I began to stress big time. So, second time around we did the wooden box thing. And when I tell you this, I'm not kidding on their price. Dirt cheap and quality. $75 for an entire 5-gallon bucket full (85 lbs.) of hardware.

Ask for Steve- call ahead

THANKS Jason! All great info and very much appreciated. Got a few more things to break down and put together the "Box of Parts". I agree on the UPS thing. Money well spent and I got a UPS store 5 minutes away.

Off to the garage to check out my latest care package from Roger/City Racer

Started re-assembly today...

Fitting the shackles will be next, now that I know which lengths go where.

Chased all the threads and put new studs in both the front/rear axle housings also. the Loctite will set up overnight and then the differentials will likely go back in tomorrow.

Burst of productivity and the shackles are in, thanks @cruiseroutfit

Interesting, I think there's conflicting info out there, you are right though.

Got the front leaf spring orientation corrected yesterday, also installed the front and rear differentials

My real job is preventing me from working on this as much as I'd like. This morning, I was able to get both the driver and passenger side knuckles installed along with the knuckle seals.
