Thanks for info
I replaced points, plugs, cap, rotor and wires hit the key started right up. adjust valves hot runs good.
on the oil fill tube is it pressed in to the block? I unbolted the regulator from fire wall on back dated Jan
1962 . now to sand and paint oil bath air cleaner and get new muffler.
Thanks Toy25ht Bill

Good to hear. Yep, the oil fill is just pressed in once you remove the brace to the valve cover. Sometimes they're a real bugger to get out.

I have been lucky and these have alway been loose for me. If it was for the clamp holding it to the block I think they would bounce out. I always have a little oil seep there.

Hi Guys
I am tring to keep it under 50 mph with the battery on the fender. Some day I will put it back under seat or under hood like a fj40. Some one talking about gas caps for the 25, I cleaned and painted the one on the fj25. Is it original for 1961 fj25?
Thanks Toy25ht Bill

Hi guys
I was wandering about brakes on fj25 compared to fj40, my original 50 year old lines running from hard lines to rubber line to brake drum started to fall apart. are they the same as fj40? are brake shoes same? Where do I order new lines , parts, for brakes ? looking at picture in sor catolog.
Thanks Toy25ht Bill

FJ25's had copper lines with single circuit brakes. The rubber replacement lines are availaible at SOR. The copper lines would need to be made using the original flared fittings. Dont lose the fittings, theyre hard to source. You could replace them with steel lines but the copper is still holding up fine on my 25.

Toy25, that's a cool old truck. And you're right next door in IN.

The big window 2bbl pictured earlier is a little carb off a 1968-ish small toyota car. Probly not big enough to be from a Crown, too much emissions crap to be from a Stout.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade from the Delco dissy to the NipponDenso. Rumor is that the Delco drive gear doesn't mesh exactly right w/ the metric camshaft gear. I've got the right dissy if needed.

The water outlet is GMC. Is the entire t-stat housing from a GMC 6cyl? Maybe the same engine that donated the dissy?

The delco style was stock pre '60. Fox may have some for parts. The po of my '59 said his literally fell apart. The ND with a pertronix is great.

Hi Guys
Looking at tires for the 25, 16 inch rim. Was looking at Goodyear Wangler AT in a 235-85 R 16 it measured 31 in. high it is a narrow tire will it fit with out a lift going stock or what would you do?
Thanks Tou25ht

I dont know just how tall you can go...however to give you a comparison ....these are my 255/85r16 cooper discover s/t tires...they measure in at just about 33" even....and skinny...like 9.7" ...kinda like 9" at the tread

these coopers are radial....thats nice....and they were cheap...$180 a tire shipped to my local sears

my old Toyo M-55's were the same size...but...are now running over $320 each

the toyo's were well over 33" ...more like 33.5"...and a widder skinny at 10" wide 9.5 or so at the tread

Hi Guys
Pulled in to driveway and the old generator died , locked up tight. Are they rebuildable or do i consider converting to alt. Now tires will have to wait a little bit. any ideas
Thanks Toy25ht Bill

I believe I have an old delco generator on one of '62s.... it looks very similiar to OEM. If you are interested shoot me a PM.

I do believe the generators are rebuildable if you have some one in your area that has the knowledge.
