The 3UZ in the LS430 gets 25-26mpg at 75mph and almost 500 miles to a tank hwy driving. Almost same engine except the 6 speed, which is a huge difference maker.
I bet we would see close to 20mpg with a 6 spd in a 100

Unless you do a lot of city driving the number of gears really won't make much of a difference. The final drive ratio in top gear will though. What are the final drive ratios in the two transmissions you are comparing?

I would guess 3.76 vs 4.10 or 4.33

Having that extra gear on the hwy keeps the LS rpm down to 2k range. Can roll 80 mph barely over 2k rpm

LS only gets 18ish mpg in town driving

How is your old 100 these days? It's been a while since I've seen it.

It's ok to like it too. You don't have to swing like Tarzan off their nuts like I do but .......

im hanging around there too.....

@Bomar gave in to the man :)

its hard to deny their fit & finish and packaging and organization and service....and everything else......being 100%

Anybody have their fuel gauge hit empty with 75/100 miles left in tank?

I get 12.5 mpg average and with a 25.4 capacity I should go 300ish miles but at 200 miles fuel light hits.

Will probably run her dry one day when carrying extra but wondered what others experience.
