on the way to big bend, we all went a considerabke distance with our fuel lights on before coasting into iraaq texas. At least 50. And then i almost burned the gas station down with a little cigar incident, but thats classified

Naw man, I told them not to take gas. We actually had some cans that we put some gas in for Big Bend State Park but we really didn't need it.

Stock with 285s got me 75 miles on the highway after the low fuel light came on. Still had a gallon in the tank when I refilled.

In my personal (FJC) and strictly empirical experience, you run the tank down near to empty once and the ECU remembers. It will start warning you sooner than the 4 or 5 gallon reserve mark. I use a scan gauge to keep me up to date on more accurate metrics.

That's interesting. Think the 99 computers are that smart? I rarely stop for fuel until the light has been on for 20-50 miles. I'll start paying more attention to how many gallons she takes.

Very interesting......instead of 170 miles and light I got 210 and light. Put 19 gallons in tank so still had 5-6 gallons. I think it has to do with all hwy or mixed driving I do. More to follow.

Im just trying to determine why my comsumption rate/ in relation to my low fuel light varies so much.

Regardless at 280 miles I'm looking for a station
