@wngrog. Will do. Is "hidden reserve" really that much?!

Light should only come on with 5 gallons left

An opportunity for Overland Cred points lost - not stopping to use the UK Wavians or Scepter MFCs that surely accompanied the caravan on a to the border type trip

Stock with 285s got me 75 miles on the highway after the low fuel light came on. Still had a gallon in the tank when I refilled.

Im at a quarter tank now. drive home is 72 miles. I'm going for it.

@Bomar, tank is good so it'ts not that but good thought.

In my personal (FJC) and strictly empirical experience, you run the tank down near to empty once and the ECU remembers. It will start warning you sooner than the 4 or 5 gallon reserve mark. I use a scan gauge to keep me up to date on more accurate metrics.

That's interesting. Think the 99 computers are that smart? I rarely stop for fuel until the light has been on for 20-50 miles. I'll start paying more attention to how many gallons she takes.

Step one complete.

Step 2 need some more man power for awning.

Putting that rack on solo was a bitch. Nice quality. I wish it was lower to truck but it is what it is.

John how did the research go yesterday on gas tank?
Very interesting......instead of 170 miles and light I got 210 and light. Put 19 gallons in tank so still had 5-6 gallons. I think it has to do with all hwy or mixed driving I do. More to follow.

Are you taking into account tire size?

Not sure I follow Jason

Im just trying to determine why my comsumption rate/ in relation to my low fuel light varies so much.

Regardless at 280 miles I'm looking for a station
