Got an issue, wondering if youve experienced it.

Ive been having slight hesitation when starting and twice it would turn over great but not start.

Checked fuel, fire etc

Apparently its a common problem but has numerous possible origins: fusible link, starter solenoid, a few geewhiz wires etc

One thread discussed a YEAR of trouble shooting and it was the aftermarket key locking up the security. This caught my attention as ive got an aftermarket with key fob on same key ring.

Ive got 2 new uncut keys and 2 old key fobs to create 2 masters. Does anyone know if removing the fob battery and immediately putting in a new one will cause it to require reprogramming for doors/alarm? I get rf freq will still talk to computer but wanted to know if the hokey pokey reprogram is inevitable.

You can move the 3 button to any cut key and not have to reprogram if it is programmed already. It is a proximity thing to disable the chip. You don't have to be in the car to change it out.

My guess you may have changed the key ring size or have more keys on the one causing the issue making it too far away to disable it to start.

Like Bomar said, get the keys cut, replace the batteries and put the guts in the new key. No programming required. I use A1 Lock and Safe who was recommended to me by @dnp at the corner of Galitan and Hwy 80. They can cut all keys even Lexus.

Herrin-Gear Toyota has a clean 2004 LC with 155k. They told me $14.5k today. Very nice truck, too clean for what I'm going to do to it!

Anyone know anything about this truck? Anything important to make note of? Or previous owner a maintenance freak? Lol

Dealer can't determine if timing chain was done and if so, when...

Thanks

I want to say that is Ben Pucketts old truck. I worked on his RHD 40 and do not believe the timing belt and water pump was ever done on his 04. If you purchase it and want to go ahead and do the timing belt bring it to me at 49Tire and I will get you fixed up. I also reccomended replacing the heater hose T's as well.

Substitute feeming with feening and take into consideration that he started by apologizing to @under_psi as well as gathering contact info for maintenance due and I'd say @Redcrayon bought it.
