The steering 'weep' is getting a tad more pronounced...

I thought my power steering pump was going out when my rack finally needed replaced. Terrible sound...worse when cold.

I would not describe by ride as "stiff" like that guy. Mine rides great until you get into a pothole, road seam situation.

I actually drove my 60 down that same road yesterday and it road 10x better on the rough stuff. That is telling.

I describe mine as "quick." Rebound seems fine, it's just the bump component that sucks. Also, from comparison with my last 100, it's the rears that seem to be the culprit. I had the exact same suspension but with sports in front and nitrochargers in the rear, and the ride was controlled, not harsh.

wait wait wait. So lemme get this straight: You guys were razzing my ass because I told you that I had heard OMEs were too stiff, and if Slee had them, they had to be good, and lo and behold, look what has been the topic of conversation for the past 2 weeks.

You can all start your formal apologies now.

:)

True, you have been on the IronMan bandwagon.

But that old, @wngrog was on the OME kick for sure! :p

No problem with OME but the shocks themselves.

My experience with OME in the past in 40s, 60s, 80s and 2 100s has been good until this truck

The only truck with OME sport shocks.

I actually went with Bilstien on the last 100 build. It was not lifted.

As for my point in the 200 thread, my point there is that it is very very hard to get honest and informed info from people that step out there and put 1500 worth of shocks and control arms on.

They don't want to admit they spent the money for moderate improvement and there are very few that have knowledge of multiple shocks on the same rig

I stick to my statements in the 200 threads.

Agreed regarding sport shocks on 100s. My past trucks with Nitrochargers, while meh overall, weren't harsh like the sports. Now, to get Nolen's impression of the Ironman option.....

Thanks for being the guinea pig, wngrog. I was just about to make the leap on something, and it'll be good to hear your opinion.......

Emptied the power steering res a minute ago. Baster I tried was too big, so had to run 1/4" clear tube in there and siphon it out. Filled it with Lucas, cleaned where it has been leaking onto the suspension. We'll see if it helps any.

Always go Lucas first.

New lineup on IronMan's site. Foam Cell Pro is there for the first time for the 100.

Nolen any idea which model you are guinea pigging? The FE or the FEC?

Talked with Mark Hawley, who is IronMan 4x4 USA and also Metaltech 4x4.
The new shock is a premium bad ass shock. Bigger valving, more foam and also is a much bigger shock. (BIGGER IS BETTER)
Depending upon the set up it will give you the best ride (comfort) or best performance. These shocks are also rebuild-able for you nerds out there and will come with a 3 year warranty. These shocks should run you around $140 each plus the ride.
Anyway he will have the front shocks in house hopefully within the week and the rears HOPEFULLY by mid July.
Why Ironman cant ship him full sets is driving him mad. Basically because the 100 and 200 share rear shocks the Aussies and buying up the supply of rears before they can import any to the USA.

Also let me know if you see anything in Ironman accessories you are needing from roof top tents, chairs, recovery kits or fridges. He has it all and we have a competitive price I believe.

Stay tuned....
