Followed instructions on valve adjustment and happy with the result. While I was at it; pulled plugs and cleaned, adjusted plug gap to what's stated in Haynes Manual, adjusted points air-gap, cleaned up rotor, adjusted mixture, adjusted idle, and lastly adjusted timing. Rig runs much better...
I read that the 2f has better oil flow and that the engine get the oil after it goes through the filter. Can the F during a rebuild do this(open up for more oil flow and filter before going to engine)?? Or is it just not worth trying to do? I know most will say upgrade but I have a nice cruiser...
I picked this engine up with a 1973 55 I bought a few months ago. I'm told from the PO that it had been rebuilt and was just put in the truck. Something went wrong because there is a big hole in the side of the block and parts of #6 piston are hanging out. The head had a fresh mill done on it...
looking for three or four original early F engine intake studs with nuts for securing the single barrel carburetor. Like this. Shoot me a pm if you have any your willing to part with.
