I recently finished updating the suspension on my new(ish) to me 2000 LC. New end links and bushing front and rear, brand new rear sway bar and new shock front and rear. All OEM parts. I did everything myself until it came to the rear shocks. I took it to a shop to have that done because it was...
Well, I've been happily working on my interior gray to brown swap and general quality of life upgrade on our '84 60.
The wipers have been terrible since we got the truck and I decided to have a look.
The motor is good, the plastic bushings are ok the bearings in the cowl mounted pivots are bad...
hey everyone. I had a general question about bushings. I am about to replace the springs on my fj40. I am planning on buying the dobinsons 1.75 springs. my question is what bushings for the 25mm eyes do you run? hate to say but would it be worth saving a little money and going with some from...
Replacing several rubber suspension parts on my Jan-95 80 this week. Original, OEM, shocks, body mount bushings and all four rod ends. I want to do this in stages to try to quantify which are the best bang for the buck, in terms of single items to replace to improve ride quality.
Rear shocks...
I've been trying to chase down an intermittent clunking sound from the driver side on braking. I sounded like it was coming from underneath, so I assumed it was lower suspension related and never looked at the top strut mounts. Until today.
This is what the top bushing on the driver side looks...
New bushings and hanger pins with bushings, take-off / driver quality stock shackles for front and rear. Ended up with SOR shackles instead. Hanger pins are from FJParts, bushings are Moog but are stamped with the OEM P/N and are made in Japan. FJ62. $250 for everything plus the ride.
Good Morning from Vancouver, BC
I have had mega wobble issues with my LJ78. We lifted the truck and tested the wheels for play. Plenty of play front left to right.
I took it into a shop in December and the panhard bushings were replaced. When I brought it back to further address the wobble...
I'm in need of basically every moving part in the suspension: steering rack, brakes, bearings and some assorted other stuff AND someone to install it for me. I cannot cross the USA border (EU registerd vehicles and EU citizens have a max stay in the US of 6 months per year - I'd like my 6 months...
Working on pressing out my front end bushings/ball joints and all went well until the upper control arms. Working on the first one and I was pressing it in a not so great way and it didn't work. So I release the pressure and started looking at how I could make it better and I noticed a gap in...
I ordered a set of OEM bushings from superior engineering for the front radius arms on the 80 and ended up receiving nissan branded bushes (I assume for a gu patrol). I called up the store and was told the bushes are the same size and made from the same compound so they just send out either or...
2001 LX470 here.
I was reading an earlier post about the rear shock bushings....(
Rear shock absorber bushing/cushion )
got me thinking to post about my Front bushings --
I think the bushing/cushion metal is so worn away that I'm getting metal scraping with every turn of the wheel . Here's a...
After a painful process that took much longer than expected (that never happens) we finally replaced the shackles on our 1967 FJ40 with a 2.5 inch lift. Now that I know how to do it I though I would share the process that we used. Much of what we did came from various contributors on this...
I had been trying to find spring eye bushings for our 40, they measured 1 3/8". When ever I talked to venders trying to find these they would say we don't have them, I was in the process of trying to find a 1 3/8 bushing with a 15mm pin hole. Then decided to convert 1 3/8" just to see how close...
I have a 1974 FJ40 with spun bushings for the lower output shift gears. Ordered replacements and received bushings that fit a 75 not a 74. Any suggestions on who to call to order two bushings so that I can finish putting the transfer case together. If bushings are not available can I buy the...
Hi all,
I have a 1999 LX470 with about 160k. Currently running on it's original AHC set up.
My rear upper control arm bushings are shot-- causing some fairly severe rear-steer/wandering in wind or on streets with even a slight crown.
I am trying to decide between 2 options:
1. Replace...

I've upgraded my suspension, so I have these factory UCA's from a 1994. I put new OEM Toyota bushings in them spring 2016, so they only have about 4k miles on the new bushings.
Would be an easy swap for someone who needs new bushings.
Located near Charlotte, NC.
$50 for the set, plus actual...
