Hello,
The windshield on my '17 apparently got hit by a rock at the top and now has several feet worth of cracks spidering out. The local Lexus dealer gave me the number for the glass shop they use. That shop's supplier doesn't have the glass in stock, but they said I could bring my own in...
Would anyone happen to have the torque specs for the various bolts? I went with the factory 12lbs for all the 8mm bolts, since that is the spec for the bolts holding the factory AHC protector tubes on, but it seems a little light.
This is the technique I used for putting in the rivnuts w/o a...
I'm very slowly working on a 3d printed box to sit outside the bumper to bolt the 7 pin harness to, instead of having it inside for that reason. I can unplug and replug the 7 pin pigtail and remove it without taking the bumper off, and I was concerned about the tight bend the wiring had to make...
Hm, I guess that is on me, the abbreviated instructions and setup I would describe as misleading, however.
The upshot is my OEM toyota plug isn't actually faulty, the tail tow fuse was just in the process of blowing. I need to come up with some sort of adapter block to fill in the gap when its...
This thread saved me a bunch of time fixing my trailer running light issues thank you!
On top of the tow tail fuse being blown, I also managed to get a brand new lx570 specific hopkins adapter that had the batt+ and brake wires flipped, and non-functioning left hand turn.
Thanks, I figured that was a possibility but wasn't sure.
Was curious how to retain the fog lights, and it looks like the pink wire is for cornering lights.
The simple answer looked like simply combining them all (minus ground), but seemed like it would be too easy.
Took a closer look...
It's a '17, at first glance it looks like during the face lift they converted the fog lights to also function as the DRL's. If the image isn't clear, there is a thick green, thin green, thin pink and thin white with black stripe. One green looks like it comes from IG, which I assume is DRL...
I'd agree the average buyer who specially wants an LX570 is going to pay less for a vehicle where AHC has been removed, is disabled or is non-functional.
Do you mind if I ask how the sensors and lights matched up or if you had to do some modification? Was reading the mountain goat build about there being more parking sensors and the lights being different.
This was helpful for my install, thanks.
I chose to chop/drill/punch out all the rivets and chop across the 4 welds to the frame, instead of cutting up the crossmember. Undoubtedly more work, but now I can bolt the factory crossmember back on in the future without any fuss.
They are generally quite solid. If it is fluctuating when you are driving, some change due to rpm can be normal. If you are getting 14v +/- 1v, 15v is too much and may shorten your battery life. You may be able to adjust the VR to fix going to high, and perhaps get rid of some of the fluctuation.
Thanks. The b wire is 12v (24v in this case), so i wasn't sure if there was some special reason to change the wiring around to have 12v on an ignition switched wire.
