Heat shields removal from exhaust manifold?

My 2000 LX470 had an annoying rattle, which turned out to be from rusted out heat shields. They were in pretty bad shape, considering that the vehicle has only 150,000 miles on it. Screws/bolts were rusted up, so had to rip them out with pliers. Pic attached. Here are the replacement part...

How important are the exhaust manifold heat shields?

I just took off some rusted heat shields that were causing the most annoying rattle ... wondering if I should bother replacing them.

Mystery noise: cyclical humming from front right side

At those speeds, if it happens immediately after you brake, it could be the brake fluid reservoir, but that's right behind the steering wheel in the engine bay.

    LX470 Noise?!

It could be the bracket holding the anti-sway bar. Its rusts out from AC drip at about 125-175k miles. More info on my post here. Most shops will miss it unless they have it up on a lift.

LX470 Mark Levinson front door speakers: conflicting info on OHMs

I should have bought these speakers instead...

    Front sway bar bracket

Good to know about the Muffler shops. I guess I'm lucky to have a good guy in charge of service at the local Toyota dealer. So, did you end up using that Tundra bracket? And how is the ride quality after?

LX470 ML Head Unit going crazy!

I have a 2002 LX470 with the Mark Levinson Audio and navigation. DVD-based Nav died a while back, but the head unit was working fine .. until today. Even when the audio is powered off, it acts as if someone just inserted a tape, which sets off the tape player into search mode. It then realizes...
