The cross bars are just square steel tubing. I have a 4runner and a Land Cruiser with different cross bar widths, so having the cross bars permanently mounted wouldn't do me much good if I wanted to swap them out.
However, it certainly could be done.
It should. It doesn't change the factory head unit...it just effectively "dual boots" an AA/ACP interface that you can also access on top of your normal radio stuff.
These are on the right due to it being an AUS/RHD model (note the start button). 2010,11,13 (and I'm sure other pre-15 models) are all the same button layout on the left. Not sure about the layout behind the head-unit however, but I'd assume they probably didn't change much if anything.
