This spans the last two weekends and the weekdays in between... FINALLY FINISHED getting the Summit Cruiser spare tire swing out welded up and mounted (some lessons learned due to my own blunders). I bought this kit during his last group buy and I think it took close to 5 years for me to get it...
This actually took the last few weekends but, using basic cordless power tools (no table saw 😬), my two left hands and mostly scrap wood from the garage (AKA: "budget build"), I built a slide out drawer & table for camping:
If I recall correctly, @cruiserdan did a price breakdown on this some years back... consensus was it's cost prohibitive (state-side) less you're a sheik.
Camped near a bunch of black bear poo :bear: and woke up super early to watch the moon (pictured) move down towards the horizon... Later, I made seared ahi tuna steaks for dinner.
Received & installed the seat covers. The photo shows them just out of the bag and on the seat without fully tucking them and having them form/de-wrinkle from ass-in-seat time; nor trimmed for the seat adjustment buttons.
No need to guess. The fan shroud mounting tabs were cracked by some ding-dong who worked on my Cruiser when it was owned by the original owner; unrelated to the radiator. I was fortunate enough to learn (second hand) about the fragility of radiator mounted fan shrouds on the 2nd gen Acura...
What does the MUD braintrust suggest for R134a valve core replacements and where to best buy them? I've just spent 10 minutes googling for Japanese/Denso replacement valve cores and the best thing I've found was questionable "Denso" valve cores from Ali-Express type website. I've just finished...
Neat! I think the biggest, albeit not very surprising, takeaway from this video is that not all tire brands are equal. Long live the underrated General ATX!🤘
I'll just note about the recommended Koyo Rad: I bought one in 2016, after my water by-pass barb broke on the then 19 year old OEM unit. Eight years later (in 2022), I discovered the plastic of the main upper hose barb on the Koyo cracked & crumbled (see photo). I was very surprised by this as...
@Kernal a lot of unnecessary posts in here, despite someone pointing out that @Outsane sells exactly what you want. You'll be pleasantly surprised how well his ignition trim ring fits, despite your material concerns.
Had to bend the sheet metal to give it a radius…
Realized I had to bend it after the fact, so the paint wasn’t fully dry… it got f’ed up.
Re-installation… I learned a new to me - but actually very old - rope trick…
Normally a two man install, managed to get it in by my lonesome...
Well this sucks! Not a break in. It seemed to just pop as I stopped at a stop sign shortly after leaving work. Nobody else around. All those stickers 😔 and the memories they held...
Added some cardboard…
Let’s paint it black!
Commandeered some aluminum via dumpster dive.
To be...
Looking to see if anyone is willing to part with a used OEM passenger side/RH battery tray for the 80 series. Please send me a message with the price and condition (a photo would be nice). Thank you!
Subscribed for when the cat thieving assholes eventually steal my cats...
@SpenserAK Aside from one of the 3 search options you posted being for the 100 series, not an 80... even if it self identifies as one, them links don't really talk about how to get past the OBD2 02 check engine light...
