ok I have a similar issue. The plastic broke around the screw on the back side (the opposite side of the button side). Also the very small plastic piece that the screw goes through that seems to hold the key blade in place is also broken.
Me key blade is the indented (e.g. has flat sides but...
thanks. I'll consider the ABS ECU too. But can blinking ABS + Brake lights + alarm indicate a problem with the save cylinder? From what I have read to far I understand that in most cases it is the ABS module (which in my case have just been rebuilt) or possibly faulty speed sensors.
I have the same issue, ABS and brake lights starts blinking first, then accompanied by a beep and after a while a continuous alarm. I have rebuild the ABS module including a new accumulator (from Toyota). Before rebuild the lights and alarm also came with a sound that sounded like a fax...
A follow up question to make this thread more complete. If you where to install a CT20b turbo (from a HDJ100) in an 80 series what are the exact modifications and parts required? I understand there are some modifications required.
ok so I had the ABS module rebuilt. They also changed the Gas cylinder (Toyota OEM). When getting it back the ABS + hand brake light still come on after 10-15 min or drawing. At the same time the lights come on the fax machine sounds starts and after a few minutes it turns into the beeping...
When you say cleaning connectors to the ABS unit do you mean the cables going into the brake system / assembly or the cables to the ABS module (the computer)? Thanks
I have the exact same problem. Screetching sound (I would say like a fax machine) after driving for a bit. Seems to come from somewhere around the brake system. It is accompanied by the occasional beep which eventually turn into a permanent beep. As soon as you touch the brake pedal the...
It is mentione that the seals are not servicable and not provided by Toyota. However, I believe I have seen them, here is an example:
https://www.roughtrax4x4.com/brms016-genuine-brake-master-cylinder-seal-repair-kit-with-abs.html
or are they diffferent?
I get almost all my parts from a company just outside Barcelona. They sell parts, repair and restore cars, and have most parts for HDJ80s (and HDJ100s) and the owner David is one of the most knowledge people I met in this space and service minded. Also speak fluent English. Contacts: David...
Hi all, This question relates to actual lift height for various aftermarket springs for Land cruiser 80 / HDJ80 for STANDARD / STOCK cars (i.e. no extra weight). Since the stated lift vs actual lift seems to depend on a number of factors (e.g. brand, if break in required, different weight of...
Thanks, I will try to get hold of some dry ice. This tar is pretty messy, strange solution to insulation (I am in Spain and it is middle of the summer which I guess is why it is melting). So nobody thinks there will be a problem with noise if it is removed?
Hi I just pulled my trunk carpet out to put a new one in. There are some patches of black rubber or tar on the floor (which I guess is sound insulation). Most of it is still hard but some has become soft / sticky. The old carpet was stuck to it in some places and I guess the new carpet will...
Update, sorry I didn't notice that this was in the 60 series. I was talking about a HDJ100 so I will move this question to the 100 series forum. Ignore below.
Hi to collect some more information on the tar in the cargo area. I just took out the trunk carpet to put a new one in. Some of...
I suspect this is more unusual but when one of my rear windows kept getting stuck in a down position it turned out the plastic button was broken. The window would sometimes not go down at all and sometimes go down but not up, but then go up after trying for a while. When taking it apart the...
So if someone is interested I found out that the early HDJ100 1998-2002 (I think) has non-variable turbos CT26 OEM 17201-17040. This is for Europe, perhaps different elsewhere.
Not to be confused with the HDJ80 turbos which also have CT26 casing but different OEM nr 17201-17010.
