ok I have a similar issue. The plastic broke around the screw on the back side (the opposite side of the button side). Also the very small plastic piece that the screw goes through that seems to hold the key blade in place is also broken.
Me key blade is the indented (e.g. has flat sides but an indented pattern in the middle).
I bought a new key cover which came with a key blade I thought could just be replaced with my key blade. However, it looks like the key blade is molded to the plastic and can't be removed. It can't be cut since my key is thicker then the dummy in the new key.
Having looked a options is seems that you can buy either back or front plastic Toyota original but it doesn't come with the little plastic holding the key blade in place.
Surely, it must possible to buy the plastic cover (with the little plastic holding the key blade) and just swap the key blade and remove control?
