Where hooks the glow controller into the harness?

The value is super low and is mentioned somewhere in this tread: Which plugs should I be running - B, 2B, 3B, H and 2H diesels - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/which-plugs-should-i-be-running-b-2b-3b-h-and-2h-diesels.471567/

    engine cut off cable broke

Hi Travis, Up to Dec. '78 the BJ's came with the cable described above. From Jan. '79 the BJ's came with the Stop-Run-Overinject system which is controlled by the ignition key. You can't have both systems in your truck unless there is some leftover from a previous owner. Rudi

    Another ammeter thread...sorry

That´s not OEM, unless that solder is there to keep the bolts in place but it looks like there was a wire soldered between the 2 studs or two wires from those studs to..... who knows.

Clusters, Gauges, Speedo & Odo meters

I don't know why you made that jumper. The track from the top stud FUEL gauge to the right stud from the TEMP gauge looks good to me. Did or didn't you get that same voltage on the right stud from the TEMP gauge? The picture in my previous posting (#610) represents the circuit and how it works...

Clusters, Gauges, Speedo & Odo meters

If you hooked it up exactly as shown above and the needle goes in the corner it means that you have a short to ground. Either a wire that touches bare metal or a sender with a short. Rudi

Clusters, Gauges, Speedo & Odo meters

See picture below: 12V to the FUEL Gauge. Inside the FUEL gauge is a Voltage Regulator that provides a wobbly 6 to 7 Volts for itself and for the TEMP gauge (red down arrow). So the voltage comes from the top stud of the FUEL gauge, goes to the right stud of the TEMP gauge, it leaves the TEMP...

Clusters, Gauges, Speedo & Odo meters

That 3 prong connector is for the Ammeter (top and bottom) and the vertical one is for the High Beam indicator. Somebody cut the (blue) copper tracks to the ammeter. For the TEMP gauge: follow the voltage. The voltage comes from the top stud of the FUEL gauge. It's around 7 Volts. Best to test...

My Blue Beast, which is no longer blue

That "sensor" is a very low ohm resistor. I don't know the value but you need the OEM sensor for correct functioning of the pre-heat and after-glow circuits especially in cold weather conditions. Rudi

Clusters, Gauges, Speedo & Odo meters

It's doable but you have to make some modifications. First: Gauges and senders are a set! You can't mix up 2nd and 3rd gen. gauges and senders. You have a 3rd gen. FUEL and TEMP gauge. They work different from the 2nd gen. In the 2nd gen cluster each gauge get's 12V and is hooked up to its...
