SOLD Portland Oregon BJ70 Stock seats Gray vinyl driver/passenger and brown cloth tumble-forward rear bench

Stock seats out of my 1986 BJ70. The fronts were reupholstered in gray vinyl in 2017-2018. The upholstery is in good shape. Both seats include sliders. The sliders work fine, but show a little surface rust in spots. $250 OBO for the pair. The rear is a transverse bench seat with decent...

SOLD WTB: 70 SERIES FRONT SEATS

I’ve got a pair of gray bucket seats that were removed from my ‘86 BJ70. The vinyl is in great condition. They look nice enough I think they may have been reupholstered at some point. The foam looks original, but is in decent shape. Both seats include sliders. Located in Portland, OR. Asking...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

I carefully measured the crank journals with a precise micrometer. If you want double reassurance, you can measure the journals and then use Plastigauge to check clearances.

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Update: I polished the crank, super-cleaned it, reassembled with new bearings and assembly lube, resealed the pan with FIPG, filled it up new oil and new filter, and it fired right up and seems to ge running well, no oil pressure light, and no more clattering noises than usual. 😅 No leaks after...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Mine has 337,000km on it. Ran fine, still seemed to be making good oil pressure.

What did you do on your 70 series today?

More assessment on the bottom end of my 1986 3B after finding a few flakes in the oil pan. The engine was running well, no apparent problems, I just happened to be fixing an oil leak. No rod knock, or play I could feel before disassembly. Here’s number 4: Number 1: The crank journal...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

My 1986 BJ70 with Diesel42 turbo kit needed an oil change, and I’m also hoping to address and fix an oil leak at the turbo oil return to the pan, so I dropped the pan. I’ve owned this rig for about a year, and this my first time pulling the sump. The oil is black (to be expected) but I also...

SOLD WTB: 70 SERIES FRONT SEATS

I have a transverse rear seat (tan) out of my BJ70 that I don’t need. I’m not completely sure if it fits the MWB, perhaps someone else can confirm? Don’t mind the dents in the seat back; it has been folded up in a storage unit, and I just unfolded it before snapping the photos. I’m sure the...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Today I worked on the Cruiser driver door a bit. I've got several issues to deal with: Sticky/hard-to-crank side window Crack in the paint/metal? Wobbly beltline moldings Missing vapor barrier Dubious door card Completely worn-out old door card trim fasteners that have been reused way too many...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

I recently sent my sun-faded, chafed, abraded old seatbelts off to Safety Restore for re-webbing. I got them back and got ready to re-install. I’m excited with how well they came out.

What did you do on your 70 series today?

It looks like mine has had the wiper hole plugged. At this point it is nearly impossible to tell if the door is original or not. I went back and re-watched the slide show from the restoration it got in Europe, and you can see the holes in the door in some of the shots. That was around 2016...
