Got a phone call guy has a 79 with 65k factory PS dealer added AC....... painted a flat desert tan over the OEM white when new,was a ranch wagon entire life so body is dinged up, no serious rust at all.. 8274 on front Ramsey 8k on rear........
I went and looked at a year or two ago, at that time it was not for sale.......he called yesterday and wants me to make offer......

I "think" I can pick it up for 3k .....

How rare are these?

79 w/ ps = more rare
7 9w/ ps and ac = supa rare.

All depends what type of shape it is in currently.

Not sure how rare exactly...But I have a 79 with factory PS and AC, not running, but complete. Mine has a bad rear corner, and the usual rocker , lower fender rust, and I picked mine up for $1500. If you have a runner with little rust, I'd say 3k is a pretty good deal.

You lucky devil Butch, I have scoured craigslist and other venues for a FJ55 rust free and you find a very cool 1979.

I know of a guy that might have interior panels made some time in the next decade if your going to restore it.

OK just arrived home bitch fired right up owner says ain't been started since last winter.....at least 8 months....drove it 15 miles, tires suck.....last time registered was 93.

Both winchs work like a charm....that rear one is damn sure coming off....along with the lights.......
Oh and I lied, it has a few more miles than the PO told me

I took it by the understanding wife's employment to show her.....

I found 3 or 4 small rust bubbles on the RF fender......so far no more.....

You could not ask for a better rig to restore if you so choose....
