Has anyone ever seen or have a pic of an fj45 lpb having rear bows and canvas top over the bed? I have found an original owner 1965 45lpb and it had bows and canvas on it when new.I will get some pics soon, but did see this in the flesh and cant tell if its a factory piece or a dealer add on back in the day.Of course I tried to buy it but no dice,I have heard of these through the years but have never seen it til now.It does have an arch in the center like the swb fixed cab road test from 63.The center bows slide on a tube to adjust where they go,it looks too good to be home built but could be an aftermarket piece. The thing that gets me is the original owner said it had it on there when new with a canvas cover!!!We need to get to the bottom of this, and I need to somehow put this in the collection!

How strange, I litterly sat down here to ask this same question. This is like a deja vu or something.

like this?

No, I have seen that pic(also never seen that rear cab rail) this is a stand alone bow system,no headache rack or side rails.

I am looking for pics or info of factory oem offerings if they exist,I have seen alot of nice homemade canopy's over the years, but an oem factory set up is like a bigfoot sighting it seems!!

you might want to check with Steve Kopito, I think he had one with the canvas over the bed

Hey Whitey and all, I have part A in the diagram, I bought the last one Toyota had for sale around 1998. I'm thinking of having them reproduced, any intrest? I had it on my 45 a couple 45 runs ago at deer valley, mabye someone has a photo. John

Wow,, John, the things you have always amazes me,I remember way back,Danny Warden telling me about some local having some factory bed bows? did you ever hear that story? Placerville was a hot spot for anything cruiser! as you well know! You were able to source that rear rack in 98? amazing!!

Yes, a local named Tim had some bows, but the strangest thing is they were in his short bed PU. Yes, the railing I purchased way back, got kicked back the first off line order so my parts guy told them I really had a truck this fits. Well my cab is from a 67/45 this railing fits newer 45's with the bolt down roof and not the clamp on cab. It might have beed closer to 93 when I got it. I'll dig it out of the attic and show some photo's. John

I've got an example of the clamp-type railing that came with one of my trucks.
The PO is a Mud member and told me he made it.
Not on a truck at the moment, and rusty, but kinda cool.
Will take a photo if anyone is interested.

Would like to see a photo of the bolt-on railing.
Interested if you repro them.
