Hi guys,
Doing the chop on the 80 to make it a tray back.
Then I will build a set of water proof drawers with slide out fridge, kitchen etc.
On top of the drawers will be a gap to squeeze in 2x spares and on top of that will be a rack system with a custom double queen roof top tent. This will be removable with wind down legs so it can stay at camp and I can take the truck with the food and kitchen out exploring each day.

If you think cutting a snorkel hole is scarey try doing this to a straight rust free truck!!

Looks like it will almost buff out:D

I know everyone's trying to loose weight but, I'm telling you, your butt did not look that big in those pants!!

The last one of these I had, had a hilux window in it and I couldn't see out the back. As I will have a camper unit on it most of the time and spare tyres at about window level I decided that if I hit something head on I would rather have steel stopping the wheels than glass and I wouldn't be able to see past them anyway. Also stronger as a mini roll bar than glass and I'm used to driving heavy vehicles.
I may end up putting on a camera that the screen will be mounted to the rear view mirror inside so it will look normal anyway.
Just wondering... Why no window?? Sure you have a reason...

I think we're gonna need more pics... nice job.

Definitely looks really clean.

With a camper unit i can see going with no window.

I haven't seen the old style BFG AT's (without the sidewall revisement) in a long time. How old are those tires?

Makes total sense now... Knew there was a great reason for now window. Keep up the great work!!

Definately subscribing !!

P.S. For the rear window bit ... if I were in your position, I would install one of those fancy smancy rear view mirror/video/rear camera things ... yea, you know what I'm talking about ...food for thought.

Too old to have a date stamp on them and one has a 18" seperation of the tread around the sidewall. I'm getting a set of KM2 muds and downsizing to 285's as soon as I sell the 4WD bus.

That's some skillful sheet metal work; which is so foreign to me. Great job:cheers:

Thanks but i can't take credit for the actual sheetmetal, the bloke who converted my 22 seat bus to 4wd knocked it up, I just did the rest.
