Hi all,

It will pretty tough to fit 35 inch tires under a SUA 4 inch lifted 40 Series without cutting the fenders and body tub.

I suppose you could lower the bump stops to restrict up travel of the suspension, but that would impact the off-road performance of the rig.

Regards,

Alan

Ok.Can anyone post pic's of SUA lift's with 35's Just want to get and idea of how they look.I have a 78 with a 4" SUA lift with 2 1/2 extended shackles and think i can squeeze them in and would look decent without having to trim my wheel well's.Dont plan on doing any Rock crawling just mountain roads and pavement to the store and back. Thanks

Well ill show you one here in a few days.I just installed 3 out of 4 tires and it looks pretty good.I will defiantly need some extended bump stops just incase.I want to be able to return this back to stock someday if desired. My rig is a 78 that my father bought used in 78 and he gave it to me in 92.I will post some pic's shortly and give a short bio about the life of this FJ40.

Will finally got it out of the garage after 3 1/2 years. My Dad was the second owner of this Fj40.It was born 1978 and he purchased it the same year from the orignal owner. He turned it over to me in 1990 for the price of rebuilding the engine.(score).I was in high school at the time (bad idea to have an FJ40) and thought that i was invensable.Wheeled the **** out of this thing broke stuff and then once i realized how expinsive it is to fix things that you brake i decided to park it and try to fix it up again. I drove it around for several years before i started to really dig into things. The transfer gear case would not hold oil.Once i got it out and tore it apart and found that every gear in the transfer case was missing 5 or more teeth (i cant belive that the thing would even move but it did.)Not sure how long i was driving it like that but as long as checked the oil it keept on going.Things i have done to it.Paint, all seats recovered, Hurculined the tub, reseal tranny, rebuilt t-case 4" lift with extended shackels.35 X 12.5 x14 BFG KM2.Next thing i would like to do is rebuld my factory PTO winch and install power steering. Here are a few Pic's enjoy.

35x12.5x15 KM's, 4" Skyjacker lift, extended shackles, 1.5" body lift (not my choice.....came from a PO that way) and I still put the rear tire into the passenger side rear quarter multiple times. Got it nicely cut to fit the flares and.......

You can see in this pic how I bent the rear quarter before cutting and putting the flares on.

I wonder if you can get away with a tire slightly less than 35" like the BFG KM2?
The 315/75/16 is 34.8" diameter.
